luckily your opinion doesn’t matter as you don’t live in Texas.

What exactly should Ted be doing? Climbing up one of those worthless windmills with a blow torch and remove the ice?

Texas embraced "green" energy and it has bitten the arse off them. All the different grids in America should be able to handle this type of winter storm. It may be unusual but there should have been enough capacity to handle it.

Hopefully everyone learns from it and we build more plants, hopefully running on natural gas since it is much cleaner than coal. And if a plant can be designed for coal that has low emissions we should use it. It is crazy to scrap everything we have that works to go and let peoples lives depend on an unproven technology.

Green energy may be the future but there is a LOT we have to learn about it to make sure it is dependable.

would you have voted for Beto over Cruz just because he’s a Republican?

That would have been a struggle for me, honestly. Beto seemed a little too far left for me.

I didn’t really follow it closely enough to be able to say for sure, though.

Okay then. That’s who Cruz’ opponent was in 2018 for that Texas Senate seat. So there really isn’t an alternative.

It’s funny all the Dims in this thread talking shite but probably didn’t breathe a word when the Dem politicians like Newsome, Cuomo, the Austin mayor were caught out and about living their life as normal during COVID lockdowns enforced by them.

That was disgraceful of them. Always was.

Careful talking about Newsom, though; you don’t live in Cali!!!

Statement from Ted Cruz
quote:

“With school cancelled for the week, our girls asked to take a trip with friends," he added. "Wanting to be a good dad, I flew down with them last night and am flying back this afternoon. My staff and I are in constant communication with state and local leaders to get to the bottom of what happened in Texas. We want our power back, our water on, and our homes warm. My team and I will continue using all our resources to keep Texans informed and safe.”
