Usually, our US Senators and Congressmen are in Louisiana to help with the recovery, assess damage, meet with local officials, be seen on camera as they walk through the peasants, grab large sums of cash out of their freezers after having a military escort driven to their home through flooded streets etc.

I love hypotheticals. Nobody has to actually be hypocritical, you just accuse them of it anyway.

But they're true only in your head.

Then why isn't the President out front of this in Houston or Dallas? Maybe he isn't really a leader??

If Senator Cruz was a Democrat, you would never hear about the story. He isn’t the governor, yet the left are still trying to hyperinflate this non-story.

The only reason that the main stream media are bashing him is because he is a conservative. There is no doubt about it.

LIE - Same people who are saying he did nothing wrong would be flooding social media complaining. Right wing media would be blasting him as an elite detached from his constituents.

Do not pretend that you are somehow not extremely biased.

Of course— during Katrina no doubt.

Yeah - they have never ordered evacuation prior to a hurricane direct hit - never. If Jesus came back today, some people would bitch because he didn't bring enough fish.

I'm not the biggest Ted Cruz fan, but it's not because where his arse is sitting right now. It's because 1) He totally caved on defending Trump (almost Nikki Haley-esque), and 2) He plays political games like they almost all do. He will excoriate Big Tech at a hearing, but then make no effort to actually do anything about the problem. That's the same dog-and-pony act that Trey For Pay Gowdy was a master at.

I'd actually be okay with Cruz if he was rightfully considered to be just a run-of-the-mill Senator. But sadly, warts and all, he's still one of the better one's.

In the future, we will either elect some people who truly want to serve America instead of their own best interests, or we will die on the vine. There's nothing special about Cruz, other than he's smarter than most. At the end of the day, Cruz is all about Cruz.

I don't disagree with much of that. This isn't a digital issue, and most politicians are going to be somewhere on the bell curve between "Mr Smith Goes to Washington" and Chuck Schumer. Cruz is better than most, but he's still a politician. There may be someone who can stay in DC and collect power/influence and stay pure, but people like that don't seek DC to begin with.

Yes, and therein lies one of the biggest components of the overall problem. People of high character and integrity almost never desire to voluntarily interject themselves into the middle of a cesspool.

The alternative was Beto O’Rourke. You realize that right? Let me ask you....do you live in Texas? If not...
