Smart move I think. Less demand on the Texas power grid.

Dude doesn't have a problem with anyone else going to Cancun, so I'm trying to see where you have proof he's a hypocrit.

The optics might be bad, but Ted Cruz isn’t the governor of Texas. He is a United States senator.

The United States senate has zero control or authority over Texas energy issues.

Should he be choosing to actively suffer with them?

If Abbott was going to Cancun, that would be a legit awful scandal and a betrayal of his people

Ted Cruz? What do people want him to do?

ROFLMAOOOO. This guy said frick it I’m just going take a vacation during an unprecedented crisis. Who the hell voted for this guy?
frick off with this bs

ted cruz isn't the governor of texas. he isn't the texas energy commissioner. He is a UNITED STATES SENATOR.

Under your shitty logic, whenever there is a recession, elected officials shouldn't be allowed to go on vacations or do nice things with their family, because millions are out of work.

Hell looks to me like there's pretty healthy skepticism that that's him to begin with. From the comments to that tweet. Some folks professing their hatred of him, but also that it's not him. Is there another source I'm missing?

I didn't acquire this miserable level of skepticism and cynicism by taking folks' word for it. It's not you I promise, it's me. How/who confirmed it?

Two things:

1. Do you have a family? Family vacations involve more than one person and are typically planned long in advance. I've had to cancel vacations because of work and it's completely unfair to the family.

2. What is a senator supposed to do about a state power grid crisis during the crisis?

I get it that the optics might be bad, but the guy has a family. His life is not just about himself.

Meh,

If you had the ability to leave Texas right now you would. I mean, when a hurricane is on the way we’re supposed to get the hell out of here.

I can literally get behind anyone else doing the same for their family as well. If our home had lost power we'd be traveling to Roswell for a warm place to stay for a few days, since that beats living in my truck for three days.

Do you know what I can't get behind? Someone who uproots their family while in public saying "Don't leave your home, it could kill your neighbor."

You have a dementia patient writing EO’s and pretending to be president and you’re worried about a man taking a vacation? Lol, okay Corky
