Holy $hit! I came here to post this...that was an epic dismantling of Garland...he absolutely just refused to acknowledge a lack of ethics review of his Parent Memo when it came to his Son-In-Law...that was on top of Cruz obliterating him on the Louden Rape stuff...holy moly!

That was pretty brutal. He would not let up. 
He probably asked "did you consult an ethics committee?" a dozen times, and Garland wouldn't answer. Then he asked Durbin if he knew.

He basically walked Garland through the travesty of his memo on the FBI investigating "terrorist" parents was. He then highlighted his BS in how that came about and his purported lack of knowledge behind it. He then demonstrated how the father of the girl raped had a right to be pissed off and how that was used to underwrite his memo. Then he took him down on the ethics involved with the memo and his SIL's stake in CRT Books.

Not necessarily singling out Cruz, but Republicans in general are great at giving impassioned speeches in hearings, but when the time comes to really fight they are MIA.

Sounds like a continuation of what Jim Jordan did to him last week. Garland is a snake, but he's totally representative of this administration and the entire cabinet.
