Other than her husband, I can't think of one. Despite what you may think of Bill, he is still adored by a large portion of this country.

Cruz may very well be the best speaker in the field, but I don't his oratory skills can mask his major character flaws. It's interesting that you found someone at The American Conservative who likes Cruz considering the fact that for a whole week, that site featured hit-piece after hit-piece slamming Cruz for the stunt he pulled at the In Defense of Christians conference.

Best speaker? Perhaps.
Most reasonable? You can't be serious.

Her Husband. Admit it Zach, you wouldn't turn down a beer with Bill. You are running against the Clinton Machine not just Hillary Clinton by herself.

Hillary Clinton is viewed as neutral or slightly liked at best.

I should have said, "Most reasonable to me."

I know you're voting for HRC on the Palestinian/Israel issue alone, TF, but tell me - is she "most reasonable" to you? Because she isn't to a lot of folks.

I don't give a shite about likeability but its one of the most important characteristics to become president.

How has running Democrat-light candidates been working out for the GOP?

they were going to lose whoever they put up. the country is moving center left, a hard right candidate will also get trounced.

Are they shooting for 3 losers in a row?

Pretty sure they lose in 2016 unless they get a generational style candidate. Cruz aint that. Paul might be.
quote:

Ted Cruz isn't unreasonable. He's the closest thing to Ronald Reagan that the country has right now. The problem is, our corrupt, biased media has moved much further to the Left over the past 30 years.

If ted cruz is the closest thing to reagan, GOP is fricked. He is eloquent but the guy is a professional troll, who only cares about Ted Cruz.

quote:

Not true. There have been huge polling movements following a bad performance in a debate.

if you shite the bed debating, you can be fricked. But being better than the other guy? Just not all that relevant.

I don't know where to begin with the false premises an assumptions in your post, but it's obvious that not only do you not know me, but you also don't seem to know Hullary very well.

The "safe choice" (e.g. Democrat Lite) has gotten the Republicans thumped two elections in a row. I will take someone less safe.

I may be left of center, but the last thing this country needs is a Hillary coronation. If Cruz were the nominee, a lot of folks like me who don't like Hillary would feel compelled to vote for her, but if Rand Paul were the nominee, we'd actually have a choice. I think this country is much better off when elections are hotly contested than when they are landslides.

I feel the same.

If its cruz vs. HRC, I am probably voting for HRC even though I do not like HRC. Honestly the only way I see voting for HRC is if the republicans nominate bat shite crazy.

of course, the only way I vote republican is if Paul is the candidate.

I am probably voting for 3rd party (again). I don't see Paul or cruz getting the nomination. And a choice between christy and HRC just leaves me wanting.

He is one of the most unreasonable members of Congress, IMO.

quote:

The Brookings Institute has released scores ranking how effective members of Congress were in 2013. And by “effective” they mean how effective congresspersons were at getting their proposed legislation through committee, a major hurdle in the legislative process. What they find may surprise you.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) was the most efficient Senator, which means Cruz got the highest percentage of his proposed bills through committee (7 out of 8). Compare this to Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) who proposed 61 pieces of legislation and literally none of them made it through committee.

Seems like when he gets behind something it is reasonable enough.
