Ted Cruz: He really is a baws baw

I missed out on some of the rally in El Paso the other night so I’m on YouTube right now watching what I missed and I have to tell you, Cruz is also the real deal. Do I think he could handle what Trump has had he won the primary and beat Hillary? It’s hard to say, but I do believe he would fight as well. As hard as GEOTUS? I just don’t know.
Having wealth as a safety net changes how you approach things, imho, which is why I believe Trump really doesn’t give a shite and goes forward with his promises.
Would have Ted made a great president? Absolutely, which is why he would have my support if he runs in 2024 (if he isn’t selected to be a SCJ before then).
This post was brought to you by Jim Beam.
ETA: if Trump Jr runs, I may have to hope he chooses Cruz as his running mate..
This ETA and potential ETA’s are brought to you by Jim Beam.

He would be legit and hopefully he is the choice after Trump is done. I don't know if he has a wide enough appeal to win in the general though

He cant win a national election. Best hope is that Rand takes notes from TRUMP's winning methods and applies them in 2023/2024. Rand could most def win a national election.

Rand is the most popular "conservative" politician amongst voters under 30 in American history. As of now, he' maybe our only hope post-Trump. Hopefully more emerge.

I like Ted Cruz but not everyone in Texas does. And he let that douchebag beto get a little too close for comfort.

I feel like Cruz lost because his over the top, hokey as hell religious displays. He was slimy in a Jim and Tammy Faye way. Always invoking his “Lord and Savior” in such a contrived way. Ironically, Trump would win over evangelicals by promising on the issues that matter to them while pretty much staying true to his boorish self. There’s a lesson in there about what really resonates with people. Also, personality-wise, Cruz is a notorious turd. Hopefully that is changing.

Insightful perspective. There was a leader from one of the leading Christian associations on Fox yesterday. The commentator brought up Trumps boorish behavior. The leader responded with exactly what you are saying. He said Trump pulled 81% of the religious right, and he will probably pull more in 2020. We dont judge a man by some past indiscretions but for what he has done for us in office.
He then rattled off a laundry list, quite impressive indeed. And when he says Merry Christmas and May God Bless America...he means it.

Cruz was my absolute favorite all during the primary - but I have come to realize that he may not have been able to defeat Clinton. I have grudgingly admitted there was something about Trump's persona (which I totally despise) that activated a huge wave of support - perhaps driven by desperation - that I don't think Cruz could have activated.
Cruz as POTUS??? I would accept that in a heartbeat, but I would not trade what Trump has done for the possibility that Cruz would have done just as good.
If only Trump could refine his rhetoric, he'd be my favorite POTUS of my lifetime.

Ted has the heart of a lion and is not afraid of saying what needs to be said regardless of blowback.
It was Ted Cruz, more than anyone else, who stopped Merrick Garland's nomination in its tracks.

If Ted had been elected he would be getting the same treatment as Trump... or worse. The media would portray him as a combination of Hitler, Satan and Richard Nixon.
