This is all well known and documented. 35 states literally passed laws or constitutional amendments to ban same sex marriage. The first to allow it was Massachusetts in 2003. Civil unions are legally not the same thing as marriage.

What are you talking about?? What is forced on you?? The dude said gay marriage was never banned, I responded to that. Some people literally do care who people frick, which is why those constitutional amendments are still on the books, in case SCOTUS overturns their Obergfell ruling.
