What is wrong with RED, WHITE, and BLUE.....

We are all Americans, or at least I thought we were.

Most of the commercials will feature 2 gay guys making out in front of their cat.

The daily mail... I do not believe it.
They are already selling shirts that the players will wear and those shirts have a red white and blue crest. They made a big deal out of the shirt(kit) announcement.

A reminder the Daily Mail is the same rag that had a story about a Ukrainian farmer having shot down a Russian plane with a rifle. The picture on the story was him holding a shot gun. They also bought into the Ghost of Kiev fighter pilot that was found to be cuts from a vieo game.

Do any of our teams wear red, white and blue anymore?

The jerseys are still red, white and blue.

WTF, they are supposed to represent the United States of America.

The colors should be RED, WHITE and BLUE, these clowns are "woke" idiots. I hope they lose every game. If there are any men on this team, they will refuse to wear.

Regardless, I’m sick and tired of the obsession with LGBTQ. We need to stop being so hyper focused on individual identity. It’s poison.

It's the rubber band effect of y'all torturing gays for so long. It'll get back to the middle somewhere in the future.

Women's soccer team is the only American team I have ever rooted against in international competition. I guess same for the men's team now. Really has no place in sports. Pisses me off.

Good Lord, that is the total number of foreign workers who died ANYWHERE in the country from ANY cause over a period of TEN YEARS.

There have been only 37 TOTAL deaths among the construction workers on the stadiums, of which exactly THEEE were jobsite accidents.

Is three too many? Arguably so, but it damned sure is not 6,000.

WGAF?

Because, ostensibly, the team is representing the United States of America...not a very small, but grossly over-represented subset of the population. When you wear the colors you represent everyone in the US. Including gay people. The gesture is nothing more than vapid virtue signaling. Something that in today's society is viewed (at least by some) as more important than actual action.

If the team, representing the US, disagrees with the practices of the host country as to their views on homosexuality, then boycott the event. Make a statement by saying we are not going to step foot in that country. Of course, that would required the "pain" of actually doing something vs a pathetic gesture that accomplishes nothing other than making about 10% of the country (really, just the media and celebrates...because I doubt actual homosexuals really give two shits about it) "happy". And I put happy in quotation marks because the constant virtue signalers are NEVER actually satisfied.

The foreign workers have no rights, weren’t paid for like 7 months, and are essentially slaves.
Weird take from you.

In fairness, so did most of the posters in the OT Ukraine thread.

Meh. This is just virtue signaling during training/events at USMNT facilities in Qatar. The rainbow crest will not appear during games.

Well I didn’t pull that number out of my arse. I think initial estimates were a single 9/11, so seeing results where they were double that we’re appalling. Here’s my link though which yes, does include other projects besides the World Cup: Human Rights Watch

quote:

At a May 2 conference entitled “Managing the Beautiful Game,” FIFA President Gianni Infantino shockingly downplayed deaths and hardships of migrant workers in Qatar who have literally built the 2022 FIFA World Cup. In doing so, he reminded the world that preventable deaths and abuses of migrant workers in Qatar are a historic stain requiring remedy before the first tournament ball is kicked in November.

The conference moderator asked Infantino, “Are you making any sort of commitments to help and support the thousands of families who lost family members who died building these stadiums?”

Although he had just mentioned the billions of dollars in revenue FIFA will generate from the 2022 tournament, Infantino refused to commit to compensating families of workers who lost wages – or their lives – delivering the World Cup.

Infantino further insulted those workers by declaring, “When you give work to somebody, even in hard conditions, you give him dignity and pride.” He later added, “Now 6,000 might have died in other works and so on … [but] FIFA is not the police of the world.”

FIFA has commitments under its own statutes and responsibilities under the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights to ensure host countries comply with basic human rights rules.

Millions of workers who migrated to Qatar for promised economic opportunities did not find “dignity and pride,” but were instead subject to grave abuses, some of which could amount to modern slavery. These abuses, which take place under the restrictive kafala system, were already well-documented when FIFA awarded Qatar the World Cup in 2010.

Dignity and pride in work is realized through fair pay, safe living and work environments, and honored contracts. For many migrant workers in Qatar, the reality has been exorbitant recruitment fees that can take years to recuperate, months of delayed or unpaid wages for work they completed, and unsafe workplaces and inadequate accommodation that have led to a reported 6,000 unexplained deaths and families losing loved ones and livelihoods.

With the World Cup barely six months away, FIFA needs to step up and meet its human rights responsibilities instead of covering up for ugly labor abuses behind “the beautiful game.”

You care too much about the color of fabric on the chest of a training t-shirt, and have likely already given it more thought than anyone involved in organizing it.

OK. That is interesting. Perhaps even a travesty.

But it has zero relevance to OML’s ridiculous, hyperbolic claim of 6,000 deaths in constructing the stadiums.
