The Chinese economy is state run and can artificially prop it up.
China could withstand decades of tariffs if not a century.
They know trump is a paper tiger and can't stomach when he will start getting criticized.

Not a fan of tariffs but man you’re wrong about this.

The soviet union collapsed despite artificial propping up.

Start?
China is 100% dependent on our consumer market.

You’re right, but it won’t be in their best interest and the market will adjust.

you can't lose a trade war if you've already lost. F china

You're Asian right? You do understand that the one thing China has bitten-on, hook, line and sinker, is the WTO and World Bank system totally dependent upon open free trade ... ESPECIALLY with the U.S. You do right?
They may be able to prop-up their currency within their own borders but their currency will lose value on the world market if they do and ..... hell, come to think of it that's great for the U.S. We win either way. If that happens and our dollar keeps getting stronger we'll buy back our debt to Chinese banks for dimes on the dollar and save trillions in the long run in interest payments on the remaining principle.

If they want to halt all military upgrading and force their citizens back to a 1965 economy model they can.

When they start? LULZ ... hell, they started before he ever pulled the trigger. Did you see his tweet to the Koch Brothers? Do you remember the backlash when he dumped the TPP and NAFTA?
The Donald could give a fat baby's arse about criticisms. The man is on a mission from God and doing the people's work.
Crazy thing is that even the people this is affecting are supporting him because most know this is the right thing to do in the long run.
God Bless Da Man!

Something that is artificially propped up can not exist in perpetuity; it is by definition unsustainable.

Actually, no. With a population of over a billion people, China needs to maintain a high GDP. Why? Because it has to keep its population employed. Think about the numbers if China suddenly facing 8-10% unemployment. That is a huge number of mouths to feed. So no, they can’t withstand decades of tariffs.

Please explain your reasoning for this opinion. Why will this end badly in your view?
