How does the lack of tariff reciprocity help the American worker?
The great news is U.S. business will go out of business and those workers get to go on unemployment and welfare benefits. But you get your cheap Chinese goods, which is all worth it.

Hardly. And history has shown this repeatedly. And there are countless other ways to "help the Amercian Worker" instead of artificially attempting to make the American worker competitive at the consumer's expense.
And what about those people who have jobs on the imports side of things???? Do YOU not care if they lose their jobs as a result of tariffs? Even if they are American?

Two undisputed big-picture facts about tariff wars:
1) Tariffs protect inefficient production.
and,
2) Tariffs protect inefficient production.
To a point.
The production has to exist first.

Then tell your neighbor(s) to stop snorting coke up their nose and smack into their veins. Why make the rest of us pay for their lack of self control and addictions to narcotics. Like putting tariffs on oil and produce is gonna even put a dent in any of that.

This shows you have no idea what the point of these tariffs is.
Not surprising judging by your past posts here.

We can always raise them higher …

I'll never understand 'conservatives' cheering for more taxes. Now, if he truly eliminated the income tax, I'd be supportive of tariffs.

Wrong.

They actually protect the American worker the problem is Americans don’t want to work and companies have sent jobs overseas for cheaper labor

Well, that is the issue. Some in here, myself included, are arguing against tariffs as long-term economic policy.
Others are saying these tariffs are temporary in nature to affect policy changes in other countries.
If it's the latter, fine. If it's the former, not fine.

Depends on how these countries behave

Indeed.
For these tariffs to work they would have to be long term or any gains are immediately lost, but the tradeoff is inflation.

Wrong. They help a certain segment of Amercian workers for a small amount of time. Or do you not care about the American worker who has a job because of other countries importing stuff to us?

They actually protect Big Corp at the expense of the small businessman

Yeah you “AGGIE” IDIOT!!!
The higher prices will be somewhat temporary as the pendulum swings back to re-creating American manufacturing sector that was DESTROYED by back room deals with CHYYNA & the likes & shipped all our higher paying jobs overseas!
With that being said, TAXES will go down to help with the transition, I can could foresee some creative ways to help with the adjustment while we bring companies and investment back to our country you moron!!
Pre-1913, tariffs used to subsidize the Government expenses, not income taxes! 1913 is when the “Federal Reserve” was formed to destroy our the country and fleece American citizens…
We start making more stuff here: more money stays in the country, the workers spend more money in their communities and it all works for overhrr
YOU SIMPLE MINDED IDIOT!!
PEOPLE LIKE YOU have zero knowledge how international trade works & we have TRADE DEFICITS WITH JUSY ABOUT EVERYONE. And most of them are using slave labor: where’s the uproar about that on modern day slavery from Lebron James types that make hundreds of millions on the slaves in CHYYNA???
We have a $1Trillion dollar deficit just with China you moron! You think that is a good deal for us???
And lastly, if you’d pay attention to Trump, he is pushing to abolish the IRS & the entire Federal tax system, who do you think?
And where do you think he will fill that deficit for Gov’t spending?
FROM THE TARIFFS YOU MORON!!
I hate you people, really do! Wish ya’ll would go back to where you come from, or at least educate yourself before posting dumb arse ignorant comments such as your post
