y housekeeper texted me yesterday that she doesn't feel safe leaving her house right now because police and ICE are persecuting Latino people. She has legal status. She said she can't work until this ICE stuff dies down. She lives in Kenner.

Oh cmon man! She added a Propublica article in the OP. If you can’t believe every letter of a Propublica article and be entirely convinced there is zero “rest of the story”, then I don’t know if I could ever believe what my own eyes see.

Large portion of ICE officers are latin because they speak Spanish and can also detect inter conversations between suspects.
When the hoards were on their march northward, were they not told by their leaders there was no money back guarantee you could stay if you made it across. Look at their 6 month stay as a paid vacation.
If an American steps across the border Southward at the crossing and then runs what do they think will happen? 6 month all expense paid vacation? I think not.
Our country did not offer them sanctuary forever. Party's over. Turn out the lights. Time to go home
