I wonder how much of it ever really "existed" in the first place. Best to think of money as a claim on the time of others.

I am taking a beating. Down about 18% since Dec. '21. It's
been a couple of months since I looked at my returns.
Way things are now I'll just wait for the S&P to reach
4,200 before I take another look. Lord only knows
when that will be with this nutty administration running
our country.

Moved to all cash Inauguration Day. I believe there’s another leg down. We haven’t seen true capitulation yet.

I’m old, so I completely emptied mine after Biden took office, been all fixed interest since.

This wreck was easy to see coming, when you know the car is going over the cliff, don’t wait till it’s already over the edge to bail out.

Look on the bright side, if it goes to zero, there won’t be anything for the Democrats to tax or confiscate.

Yes. I should give him what I’ve got left and pay him to invest it for me.

It’s Empower, and it also has all of the Vanguard options. Not sure what my employer can do to make it better.

2008 was bad. The President was Obama, Vice President was Biden. Total shitstorm with the economy. I lost $80,000 during that time with 401k. Never went back into it. Sometimes now I think it’s better just to save rather invest.

Swamp rat W was President in 2008.

And saving doesn't keep up with Brandonflation.

I’m up 6% on the year, but I was up 9% just a few weeks ago.

"I heard the Country is
Going through hard times
But I ain't feelin' it none
We're all tryin' to make it
Through one more day
When it's all said and done

I got a deer and a half in the freezer
I got wheels and plenty of wood
I know I ain't setting the world on fire
But I think I got it pretty good" - Chris MFing Knight
