Can we get an updated number on Americans citizens(not military), still in Afghanistan? The 10,000 number was thrown around way before this thread was even sticky’d, and before the Taliban even controlled the country.

Also, I remember reading on here a month ago that the US was telling all American citizens to get out. Weeks before the Taliban even began to take over the country. People act like all of this happened over night. It absolutely didn’t. There was an 18 month get out plan, with the original agreement and deadline being May 1.

No one knows. The State Department doesn't even have a fricking clue. And this isn't me being dramatic. No. One. Knows.

We could if the State Department was able to provide the numbers. They’ve admitted they have no idea how many Americans are there.

Then it was stay away from the airport because it's too dangerous...

Unless they are of Middle Eastern origin, I haven’t seen any photos of Americans trying to get out. And haven’t even heard of any anecdotal cases outside of the British guy that went there for fun. Are there really any Americans left there? If so, it’s absolutely not “thousands” much less the weeks old “ten thousand” number

Is this al Qaeda? Just wondering how we know they are al Qaeda, although I do remember “foreign fighters” being used to describe them before.
