That was a fine speech. Yet, it was also a call by a British GWOT veteran (who clearly has respect for the US military) for Britain to distance itself from alliance with the US in favor of continental Europe. That is sad and tragic and should be a wakeup call for all Americans. And how can we blame him? What is potentially happening before our eyes is the fall of a Great World Power.

The nations of the world and their people can now see that there can be no reliance on the US to maintain a stable world. No amount of technology or military might can provide the backbone to use it. And the blow was struck by those connected to what started this whole descent in 2001. It's almost poetic in its tragedy.
