It's a red state but a blue year Texas is not turning blue
This is going to be corrected; just the cost of adjustments

Look I am voting for Paxton because I want my $5000
It’s just an added benefit that talafreako won’t win and push more government hand outs

A delicious amount of irony in that statement
I just hope it was intentional

The Texas legislature has shown you how “conservative” it is with Abbot at the helm. I am sure with more Democrats in the state legislature and a Democrat governor Texas will become more conservative and correct itself lol a lot of hopes and wishes by Texas voters

The way the Texas government is designed the governor has very little to do with what happens in the legislature
dan patrick is the one who controls everything happening in the legislature
His election is not in doubt
In the Texas Constitution, the lieutenant governor has the most power in the state It's not like it's the vice president. The governor's office is almost merely ceremonial

Not so much for soft headed downvoters.

It's not.
If it was not a competitive race, Paxton ads wouldn’t be on every other commercial while I’m watching these college football games.

I remember people complaining about Dewhurst.

What assertion of mine are you questioning, the constitutional structure of Texas state government?
I imagine that's really easy to look up

Yes, and Kalshi. Tarzana loves quoting Kalshi.

I think Paxton is going to win. I’m just saying the actions of the Republican Party lead me to believe this isn’t going to be a blowout.
you're right Paxton will win narrowly. it won't be a blowout.
the fact that Paxton won't win by 10-15% should concern Rs going forward. too many people here are stuck in 2024.

Each one of the Senate campaigns that Trump has horned in on is losing support; two of them, Collins in Georgia and Whatley in NC are lost already, with the Democratic nominee regarded as SAFE in latest polling-- 95%+ likelihood of winning.
The others he has intruded in-- Michigan, Ohio and now Texas-- are also fading for the Republicans' chances. Now the POTUS is concentrating on Kansas, Nebraska and South Carolina. The New Trump Trope should be MABA -- Make America Blue Again!
Ironically the only Republican Senate candidates in "swing states" who seem to be doing better than earlier in the cycle are Susan Collins in Maine, and my favorite, Michelle Tafoya in Minnesota. And Trump has so far avoided those campaigns.
