Aren’t they on hiatus? I don’t think they tour or make music anymore.

Lead singer Serj Tankian is as liberal as they come, so I wonder what his thoughts are on this.

I love SOAD, but I know the singer hates Trump. Recently pinned all this on Trump.

Will be interesting to see if the band ever plays together again. Doubt that now.

They are. They were both blaming Trump for the riots just recently on Twitter. I quit following them too.

If the board had disagreed with his opinions instead of agreeing with them, everyone would be telling him to stick to beating drums for a living and talking about how celebrities have no business commenting on politics.

Hilarious.

The other members of the band do talk about politics on a near daily basis and are raging liberals. I don't recall ever a comment about it on this board.

No they won’t

“I’m lucky, I’m in an industry where you CAN be honest about your views wherever they fall with little to no repercussions. I don’t rely on a movie studio, label, media or anyone else who will bow down to pandering political correctness and am in no danger whatsoever of ‘losing my job’ because you don’t like what I have to say.”

..

It’s not the first time Dolmayan has expanded on his views. In a 13-minute video response a few days after his initial expression of support for Trump, Dolmayan said: “You’d be surprised at how civil our conversations are, especially between me and Serj, who seem to have the most diverging opinions on things.”

This is definitely true and should serve as a moment of self reflection for everyone on here but won’t.

Considering the lyrical content of many of their songs, I wouldn't have expected any of them to be Trump supporters. I saw them at Ozzfest years ago. Good show, good band.

They weren't wrong in B.Y.O.B. We shouldn't have been fighting a war in Iraq. We were there for the military industrial complex to keep selling bombs and making money for the rebuild for Halliburton.

Did you notice that the content of the message centered around forming your own viewpoints and not being pressured into being outspoken in one direction because of career implications ?

He specifically said the entertainment industry falls into this trap. This board agrees with him because it is a fairly objective truth. Anytime 99% of a group of people “think” a certain way, they are either pressured or manipulated to do, or the opposing viewpoint has very little support.

So no, for most celebrities, we don’t need to hear their incessant pandering that is largely self-serving.

Anyone with common sense knows the vast majority of those in music hate anyone who supports Trump. Their hatred is spewed nonstop, daily.

Yet Trump supporters still listen to them and go see them.

So, yeah.

I didn't say someone would be motivated to post the liberal views here, only predicted what would happen if they did.

Prove me wrong. Pick any of those political quotes you just referenced you'd like and post them on here and see what happens. Just make sure you identify the author as a celebrity.

I'd be willing to bet actual money if you'd like on the outcome.

Why do you keep ignoring the content of the message? He’s talking about free thinking and not melting about differing opinions. Seems like you need to take his advice because you are literally about to combust.
