I don’t think you understand most of what you’ve posted in here.

That is abundantly clear, and it isn't just in here.

To me the biggest question is why did Assad flee to Iran after having just returned from Moscow?

I have to imagine he either didn't get support (which makes me question why he returned) or he thought he would get support that never came.

Clearly Russia is not supporting Assad in a way that protects him, so going to Russia doesn't help

No you did not answer the question. You posted some tweets as a red herring.

Other than literal overland logistics that's the only thing that makes sense.

And overland logistics shouldn't be a concern (he freely travels by air over the Caspian and there's always ships to the Crimea) even if he's toting the entire remaining treasury.

Was he afraid the Russians were going to trade him?
Did the Iranians just simply offer a better deal?

Reports on X are saying that he sent his family back to Moscow and he went to Tehran. My guess is that the went to Tehran for one more hail mary pitch before going into exile. Also the floors next to the windows are less slippery in Iran than they are in Russia this time of year.

If people didn't understand the implication in my post, it included this for sure.

I took it to have that meaning.

I find it interesting, assuming true, about the family being separated and in Moscow.

I see that as thinly veiled hostage taking.

Supposedly Assad reached out to the USA to help him stay in power and both the Biden administration and Trump transition team told him to pound sand.

It’s almost like bogging them down in the Ukrainian quagmire of their own making is paying dividends.

Who would have thought degrading a near-peer, aspiring hegemon would serve US interests?

Supposedly Russia denied Assad’s asylum request. That goes to show that Russia can’t be trusted by its friends or its enemies.

Not a damn thing unless it becomes a breeding ground for terrorists like ISIS. As long as it doesn’t then we should just sit back and watch.

No it’s from random posters on X. None of the journalists or anyone that I recognize are reporting it.

ETA: Why do you and JB only show up when someone says something bad about Russia?
