We need some big time watchmakers here and get rid of this “Swiss made” monopoly. I know Japan and Germany make good watches also but the public only really knows an expensive watch is a Swiss watch.

I also wish Grand Seiko was called something else to get away from Seiko.

Used to have Hamilton.

"We produce everything in Switzerland, not in China. And we have a high cost. And when you add a 39% tariff, we cannot absorb that. So prices will go up for sure," Hayek said on Monday, without giving specifics on the potential rise.

I'm confused. I thought that Americans pay the tariff which is what makes things more expensive. So what is this guy talking about? The companies in Switzerland would not have increased input prices from tariffs. Or am I missing something?

Ship your parts to a small warehouse, hire a few folks, and assemble your US inventory here in the states. Its a fricking watch.

You act like expert watchmakers that create Rolex, Patek and AP just grow on trees around here. They are rare and require lots of years of training.

You think this is the only industry that's going to pass on costs to the consumer once their warehouse supply runs out?

Who do you think really pays the 21% domestic corporate tax?
