He's been that way for a good while now.
He's had a long famous spat with William Shatner, and for most of that time Shatner was seen as sort of the dick bad guy in it and Takei the much more sympathetic figure. Shatner's really mellowed a lot in his later years and actually comes across a much more decent guy than he ever did, while Takei has just gotten nastier and more and more bitter as the years go on.

George Takei is a truly evil person who would do everything to Trump voters (not just MAGA but Trump voters) that was done to him and his family during World War II. He looks at anyone who would even consider voting for Trump as subhuman and actual hardcore Nazis and would thus justify any harmful treatment of them, up to and including cold blooded murder.
Additionally he’s probably also a pedophile and said him getting sexually abused as a young teen was a great experience. Only pedophiles say that shite, which unfortunately some kids that were sexually abused grow up to be. Someone who was sexually abused and is not a pedophile tends to get extremely angry towards pedophiles more than the average person does.

Yeah, I’ve always heard about that. Apparently Shatner knew even when they were making Star Trek that Takei was gay and always gave him endless shite about it.

I really don't understand "the weird" angle they are desperately trying to get to go viral. It's a very strange ploy in itself. The only way I could see it making some sort of impact is if they have pics of them cos playing in blood witch magic, like they sometimes catch Dems doing. Here in Texas "keep Austin weird" is even a positive vibe saying. Even Boomers think this is lame, perhaps its aimed at the big band cohort? We'll best of luck to them anyways.

For those unaware, George Takei (Sulu on the original Star Trek) is one of the most TDS-addled “celebs” on X, and his rantings are right up there with Olbermann and Meathead.
I dug up the old interview he did with Howard Stern in which he said he likes to randomly walk up to men and grab their crotches. I think I even started the 'this you?' thing. That was my comment when I posted it.

I can understand him being bitter about he and his family being put in an internment camp, but we all know who's responsible for that.
