A lot of froth with no substance. But keep knighting for Losh.
I can restate if it isn't clear. Go read it again.

Losing your job is absolutely in play if you’re an at-will employee.
Depends on your relationship with the marketing person and what was posted, but I’d go in contrite in that you’ve learned your lesson and even offer to delete some social media if need be.

Absolutely - lead with this. In fact, disable FB going in and tell him/her you've already deleted it.

One conservative? I know owner your talking about Sir Winston. Putting a bumper sticker over a bumper sticker is a far cry from keying a car.

I’m not worried about losing my job. The exchanges happened on a Saturday.
Does not matter.
Does said Prog work at your company?
If yes, you are in trouble...
If no...
Does said HR rep support Prog views?
If yes, you are screwed.

This is how they keep decent folks from having an opinion. It’s ridiculous.

Nothing racial was said, I don’t do that sort of thing. He does not work with me. It was off a local new station’s page on an article. Nothing more than really nitpicking either way. He went right to this crap. More proof on how demented and bat shite crazy liberals are. I think it had something to do with tax reform, to be honest I don’t recall it was that meaningless.

You got doxxed. You should do this NOW:
1) Delete your comments in the FB thread.
2) Block the user in question.
3) Delete any and all personal information from FB, including your work history, place of residence, any legal or financial information, email, other social media handles, phone number, and biographical info.
4) Remove any photos that reveal your location, the identity of your relatives, etc.
5) Change your FB privacy settings to put your account on lockdown. Only friends should be able to see your content.
6) Change your passwords.
7) Evaluate the threat to your job. Will this negative review matter? If not, do nothing. If yes, consider notifying HR immediately to get out in front of the fallout.

You triggered a snowflake and they ran to your employer. This is how libs operate. Their points can’t stand up to any kind of scrutiny, so they try to get you banned/fired or ruin your life for the slightest bit of wrongthink.

Just think about this for a second.
A simple little political argument, and this "friend" is LITERALLY trying to ruin your life.
Process this. Is it really that fricking serious? To frick with someone's livliehood? What kind of human being does this? I thought liberals stood for free speech and tolerance.... at least didn't it 10 years ago? WTF....
Is anyone shocked that it is a liberal? Seriously, to the normal democrats out there --- when are you going to accept that this is not a small percent of your party?
