Stalin, Mao, and Hitler agree. That's why they made sure to kill more people than all religions combined, and with the purpose of going forward with an agenda that included the eradication of religion. Great job by all the heroes who make sure to let us know that religion is bad!

Dozens of extremists attacked a Kenyan coastal town for hours, killing those who couldn't answer questions about Islam and those who didn't know the Somali language, officials and witnesses said Monday. At least 48 people were killed and two hotels were set on fire.
"They came to our house at around 8 p.m. and asked us in Swahili whether we were Muslims. My husband told them we were Christians and they shot him in the head and chest,"

When are people going to wake up to the Death Cult of Islam

Actually debating what is obviously a poorly written piece of propaganda.

Who will be stirred up more?

A) Bible thumpers
B) Parrot heads
(those who swallow up ever bit of propaganda that oozes from their TV and can't wait to run to the poliboard to begin the parrotting process).

The patience you exhibit is rather saintly.

How easy it is for us, so removed from conflict, to proudly praise God at the tops of our lungs.

I wonder, had the husband denied God in the face of danger would there have been a line at the gate for those who "Did not understand the verse as written," or "Really only wanted to get back to protecting my family and stuff?"

They would have raped you with their pistols and then denied you universal medical coverage.

Ooooh, I can see it now.

Terrorist: "OK, Mr. Victim. You have one question to save your life. What catagory?"

Victim: "Terry, I'll take Mohammed's wives for $500"

Terrorist: "Here is the answer? The answer is Nine"

Victim: "How many wives did Mohammed have?"

Terrorist: "Sorry, the correct answer is 'What was the age of his youngest wife. Sorry, Vic. Now bend over while I chop your head off."

I never once stated I was perfect, but if you read the scripture there are numerous examples of individuals who did not deny their faith and were persecuted because of it. To me, and many others far more knowledgable than me, the message is clear.

Yep. This thread brought out the crazies. Isn't it odd how some of the world's major religions actually celebrate dying for the faith? It's like some strange fetish.

I love the guy safely at home in America quoting the scripture about what the guy staring down the barrel of a gun 3,000 miles away should have done

But he did do it and is now getting unfairly criticized for it. I'm amazed at his courage and was trying to shed some light on his reasoning. I'm not the one saying that the man should have done something differently in what was likely an impossible situation in which no answer would have sufficed.

honestly, the fact that you think there's a "line" and you have to justify yourself getting into heaven is pretty ridiculous.

but let's say if he denied being a christian in that instance and was let go..

isn't that what peter did? denied knowing christ 3 different times. was peter kept out of "heaven" according to the bible?

Yeah, he did it. Who knows if he's with the little baby Jesus or not. What we do know is that his wife and dependents have a much harder life now that he's gone.

No. Peter had the chance to help Jesus carry the cross, and he declined. He screwed his friend over at the worst time. Preventing yourself from being shot by a crazy person, no matter what it requires your saying to this person, is not an affront to Jesus.

Me too.

In fact, he was reading the Bible upon hearing a knock at the door.

Please tell me that line is in the story.

If any imaginary magic person would condemn a person to "Hell" for THAT...the imaginary magic person can go frick HIMSELF!

I do not criticize Christians for being Christian. But, that assholish of a position by the imaginary magic dude deserves being called out.

Yes, but he repented and became a stronger Christian in the process before being crucified upside down years later. As a Christian, you shouldn't want to sin even though you can repent at a later time since that would be highly disingenuous and a sign that maybe your heart isn't in the right place after all.
