Scientifically speaking, how would a "global flood" work?

What talking snakes are you referring to? Are you going to literary criticism?

I would have thought you better than this.

Global to time or global to the known "world".

People not long ago thought the works to be flat too.

Yep

Bible:
Adam/Eve --->--->---> Flood

Archaeology/Study:
100s of thousands of humans --->2 of those lead to most/all living humans.

Parts of the Bible are literal, such historical content. Some is put in a poetic way.

This isn't hard. But when you come from an angle of attack because you simple MUST disprove it, then truth such as that is dismissed.

Like the geneology of Jesus according to Luke that suggest the Earth is ~5000 years old?

A) I'm not attacking the Bible, just the people who take a 3200-1500 year old book literally

B) Again I ask, how do you prove a negative?

C) do literalists not have any onus of proof?

Science currently points toward either a multiverse or expansion/contraction, neither of which require a beginning.

Science will never point toward an invisible sky fairy.

Wow this thread delivers. I thought everyone has accepted evolution to some extent?

I thought everyone had accepted the fact we are living in a simulation.

And you can't disprove it either; you see popular articles pubished every few years about it, usually some guy is quoted as saying we do/don't live in a simulation based upon how "grainy" or something when he studied data "from the limits of the observable univers," or "from the Alpha-Quadrillion galaxy 1,000,000 light years away."

But see, I got a modification to the simulation theory, only I won't get quoted all the time like Nick Bostrom:

"WTF Joe? You screwing with that simulation thingie again."

"Yeah. I just rewrote some code. The world isn't flat anymore. Heh heh, wonder what they'll think of that?"

"Hmmm if you really want to screw with them... lessee you could start sticking a few lizard creatures here and there, bones you know. And make 'em big. Hey! I know, you've only been running that thing, for what 7,000 years relative time? Why don't you put in some stuff to make them think it is like... I dunno, millions of years old? Billions? Bet that'll freak them out."

right.

he gets to pick and chose what is actual or "historical" and what else is "poetic". I'm not saying this to disprove, but Jesus said that it was all truth in the Gospel(s).

Surely, that could have been his diplomatic way of getting heard by all, but that's not what literalists believe.

but, God forgives.

Like we do in privatized prisons in Louisiana. We forgive and eliminate instead of rehabilitate!

Yeah, why didn't God put Cain to death like we do?
