I think you are wrong. This episode shows bizarre behavior on Donald Trump's part. Number one, his feeling the need to rig this. And number two to insult his competitors the way he did. That is abnormal behavior that is concerning.

Very good. Par (the average for a round of golf) is usually 72. Straight up, depending on which tee is used (each tee has a different yardage length, making some harder than others) 72 is difficult to accomplish at any age. However, in golf, they have a handicap system that allows players to get strokes depending on their level of play. Zero handicap means you're really good and get zero strokes from your opponents. An 18 handicap means you're no good and get 1 stroke per hole. This is designed to make golf more even, so that everyone finishes at par. If an 80 year old with a high handicap has a great day, they can technically beat a pro, even though their scores might actually be a a 71 and 88. That 18 handicap will bring your score down to a 70.
Apparently, Trump only has a 3 handicap, so he's really good for any age.

But Trump never played the first round as he was attending a funeral in North Carolina of ardent supporter Lynette Hardaway, known by the moniker "Diamond" of the conservative political commentary duo Diamond and Silk.
Trump told tournament organizers he played a strong round on the course Thursday, two days before the tournament started, and decided that would count as his Saturday score for the club championship. That score was five points better than any competitor posted during Saturday's first round.
