Bill Maher

I watched his show one time years ago and thought, what a cretin.

Maher is not the intullectual he and his audience believe him to be. He has his followers and I'm SURE HBO pay's him handsomely to spew his hate from his unprepossessing face.

Oh this is beautiful- still watching so have to keep a running tab of standouts:

1. Bannon: impeachment should have gone longer, call all witnesses, air it all out, including Crossfire Hurricane
Maher: my audience doesn't were Republican decoder rings, don't know what that is
Bannon: well they should because this goes to the heart of civil liberties, and it doesn't matter if it's Trump or Bernie as POTUS- the deep state will try to destroy Bernie as well

2. (Maher bellyaches the electoral college)
Bannon: it's a republic not a democracy
Maher: Well the system's rigged (audience erupts in applause)
Bannon (unfazed and addressing the audience): With this attitude we're going to keep winning

3. Bannon: the dims are allowing a republican oligarch (Bloomberg) control the party

4. Maher: Trump's bailout of the farmers $24 billion, Obama's bailout of the auto industry $12 billion- so who's the socialist (he did stump Bannon on that one- Bannon should have hit back on all the rest of the pork that Obama included in the $1 trillion "bailout" and the fact that the auto bailout did jack shite for the industry whereas the farmer "bailout" is due to need to engage in a trade war that the past 6 or so administrations failed to address- so, adjusting for inflation, not bad)

5. Bannon: you are now seeing the culmination of 3 years of Trump's policies and his got his party united
Maher: I cannot disagree that Trump has had the best week of his administration

There's more, including Bannon's point that the President is entitled to have civil servants around him that will dutifully carry out his policy.

Maher actually suggested that Trump calling people names could incite violence.

Meanwhile, dems call Trump racist, traitor, and dictator as BLM, OWS, and Antifa loons riot in the streets.

Surprised Bannon didn't slap him in the face with that.

You've described the DEM ideology in a nutshell.

hell - many on here could own his arse in a neutral setting with complete free speech and instant fact-checking.

This. Watch Bill on the Joe Rogan podcast a few weeks ago. He & Joe go off on the left & how they are screwing everything up. And Joe & Bill both consider themselves on the left. I think Bill has a part to play on his own show & he acts it out well.

Because Obama destroyed rule of law in order to pay off labor. Trump is fighting a trade war started by China and defending an industry that China targeted in an effort to hurt him politically.

The comparison of the two is another example of Maher being a retard.

I was just about to post something like this. He definitely plays up the role on his show.

Didn't take long for Maher to show how uninformed/misinformed his audience is and he acknowledges that fact when Maher tells Bannon his audience doesn't have the "decoder ring" to understand Crossfire Hurricane. This is a problem and it's why every Trump supporter should take every opportunity to inform the uninformed/misinformed Dim Drones.

Maher really takes his dumbassery to another level when he says Deep State government staffers are actually the good guys that keep the country running.

X3. Maher plays a role, that's why he's on HBO. He's a standup comedian pandering to a fanbase that nets him a huge income. Occasionally he shows his real views when he rips neo-liberalism a new arsehole at the end of the "new rules" segment. He's actually a libertarian by modern standards.

That's my takeaway. That audience is a representation of the entire left just waiting for the "applause" light to come on and follow orders

Well, they fricking should and it’s why I can’t stomach this guy’s show. It’s like my virulently anti Trump friend who claims to be a big 4th amendment guy, yet had no clue what the FISA court is.
Most informed people (Left or Right) are aware that our intelligence services were conducting surveillance of certain folks associated with the Trump campaign. (Though they may disagree about the extent, reasoning and propriety).

Left or Right, I think no less of them if they are simply not aware of the code-name assigned to that undertaking.

Steve made some good points but when he really got on a roll Maher would change topics. I would have liked to see Steve keep sticking with the original question before allowing Maher to move on.

Meh.

It is a ten-minute segment on a television program with only so-many minutes available to it. No host invites a guest just to give that guest a forum to bloviate on a single topic of the guest’s choosing.

Shocking. What are your expectations for millions of American voters politically engaged enough to flip on Maher and lick their tv screens every week? What are your expectations for Maher, who chose to be flippant and condescending rather than inform his audience, many of whom are Sanders supporters, of one of the biggest political scandals in recent memory?

Meh.

Most Americans know we invaded Europe during WW2. Far fewer would recognize “Operation Overlord” as the codename for the operation.

Maher is a comedian. Rather than explaining the term, he made. a self-deprecating joke about his own constituency.

Amazing isnt it? A room full of so called liberals, completely uninterested in a politically motivated, police state plot to surveil and derail an outsider's presidential campaign.

That’s the most frustrating part of this. So eaten up with hate they can’t see the real long term danger to our country. What will it take?
