I see some self-described libertarians siding with lefty bureaucrats at CBO who claim the Big Beautiful Bill will “explode the debt.” This is based entirely on CBO claiming that extending the current tax rates (not raising them) will “cost” the government $4 trillion in revenue. Since when have libertarians argued that NOT raising taxes “costs” the government money? Private money yet to be earned does not “belong” to the government. This is a Democrat-collectivist argument and I’m shocked to see libertarians deploying it. Under this ludicrous theory, one could raise taxes to 90% on everyone and declare the deficit solved. BBB cuts taxes, cuts spending, reforms welfare and *ends mass migration*. On the last point, anyone serious about limited government and improving America’s financial health would understand that ending mass migration is the prerequisite for every other problem we wish to solve. Of course, true libertarians don’t believe in borders at all…

I love how he's claiming legislation they're working to pass that will extend tax breaks beyond their deadline is some nefarious accounting scheme against him.
Admin increasing the deficit compared to taking no action today is the bottom line....

The CBO says this bill will add an addition $3 trillion to the deficit. $4 trillion of that comes from keeping the status quo with respect to tax rates.
Therefore, the bill cuts some $1 trillion in spending over the next decade.

Agree 1000%. Who opened Pandora’s box for amnesty to all invading illegals?

BUT, it must be accompanied by real cuts in absolute dollars, for it to be a valid argument.
If you are going to use "accounting gimmicks", albeit necessary ones, as a defense you better damn well do non-gimmick and substantive actions.

Libertarians have turned into a bunch of fricking pompous snobby arse punks. All of them have - Including Tucker, Sean Ryan, Tim Pool, Dave Smith, bla bla bla bla - All they do is sit back and play Monday Morning arm chair QB when the fact of the matter is that their stupid fake made up party is irrelevant and they haven't won an election in like EVER

Not sure how to break this to you, but ALL INCOME DOES NOT BELONG TO THE IMPERIAL FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.
Additionally - The Federal Government PRODUCES NOTHING.
I get it that the ruling unelected intelligentsia has fricked our language in the ear until it's practically unrecognizable, but when you call additional tax revenue received "tax savings" and American workers keeping more money that they earn "tax expenditures", then that reinforces the implicit belief that all income belongs to the government and we should be lucky they "allow" us to keep what they do.
frick. That. Sideways.
And frick you for running headlong into your Stockholm Syndrome.
