Stephen Hawking was a smart MF when it came to the WOT

Smarter than a lot of Bush loving idiots on this board.

"The war was based on two lies," he said through his voice synthesiser. Both the claims of weapons of mass destruction and linkage to September 11 had proved untrue. "It has been a tragedy for all the families. If that is not a war crime, what is?" He added: "I apologise for my pronunciation. My speech synthesiser was not designed for Iraqi names."

He was a shitty liberal.

Hawking was just a really intelligent person. Understanding physics the way he did just isn’t prominent. We are lucky to be alive when he was. Can’t believe he believed in climate change tho!

I didn’t think there were that many bush lovers here. I would at least wager most MAGA’ers certainly aren’t happy with bush and the damage he did.

Steven hawking was so stupid he didn't even believe in God

He was a physicist. His thoughts on geopolitical matters carry as much weight as his thoughts on the game of cricket, if not less.
That said, the Iraq War was based on faulty intelligence and was a boondoggle that wasted many American lives, destabilized the Middle East, and extended the War on Terror by decades. It was a great, stupid tragedy, but not a war crime.

Uh... why? Why am I "lucky to be alive" at the same time as Stephen Hawking?

For a smart guy, he "says" some dumb shite.
As for WMDs, there were WMDs there; however, not to the extent, type and degree portrayed. Also, It was not just Bush & Co. saying he had them - every intelligence agency said he had them (as well as every Dem leader in 1999/2000). However, you have Hussein stonewalling and not complying with the UN inspectors and failing to certify he did not have them. Could you afford to take him at his word/non-word?
As to the "linkage" to 9/11, no serious person was saying that Hussein was connected to the attacks. Rather, the issue was whether, considering Bush's policy of pre-emptive actions in the WOT, considering Iraq was a member of the "axis of evil," and considering Hussein's known support of terrorist activities, could the USA "take the chance" of leaving him in power with WMDs?
Mind you, I think the 2nd Iraq war was a mistake, Hussein was contained (other than his fricking around with the no fly zones, which alone was a basis to take his arse out under the 1990/1991 UN resolutions), it has ultimately destabilized the region to Iran's benefit, and the blood and treasure expended was not worth it.

Yep. Rest in peace, smart man, but this amounts to a celebrity ranting about politics on twitter IMO.

Just a very pivotal point in quantum mechanics. Whatever advances our future scientists stand on will be on his shoulders. If you’re not into science you probably don’t care.

Dude was a brilliant physicist. Let's not pretend hat makes him an expert in politics.

Brilliance in one area does not mean brilliance in all. It doesn't even mean common sense in all.

A lie or an error ? A criminal conspiracy to deceive by both Parties and international allies or really shitty, self- serving intel by The Deep State ?
As solace, you should appreciate that it discredited NeoConservatism from 2004 on and educated The Right on the danger of unintended consequences in the Middle East and returned America to a non- interventionist footing . And now after eight years of bumbling through the Obama years, we now have a President that rejects Deep State Narratives and works outside of the box to resolve International disputes with our enemies and put the interests of the American citizen first. He never misses an opportunity to agree that Iraq was a clusterfrick.

Pretty dumb for a supposed smart guy...but thats not unusual. I never understood why so many people think that someone educated in any specific area of knowledge just assume that the person should be listened to on any area outside of that particular field.
"I have a degree from Harvard in Transexual Intersectionality....so let me educate you dumb potato farmers about global warming"
Soooo stupid.
