So you don’t think personal relationships with atheists, gay people, other religions etc are directly affected by Christians knowing they are going to hell? There’s more to it than just thinking they’re going to hell.

No, not like those laws. Decent people don't need mythology to prevent them from committing murder.

Other than telling that person there's a way that you can avoid it, nah. I do not treat anyone any differently than if they are a believer.

You seriously think atheists muslims and homosexuals aren’t treated differently? You want to die on this hill?

It's tough when someone espouses something they can't answer.

Nah, I've dealt with you enough that I knew you wouldn't give an honest answer.

bullshite, if Christians can assert that they have a source for objective morality why can't anyone else?
Because of the word "objective". "Anyone else" implies that literally anyone can have an objective source for morality when that's not true as evidence by the fact that so many reject anything but what exists in the natural, material universe which has no fundamental moral force or standard. Therefore, all concepts of morality have to come from human beings which by definition makes any human-produced moral standard subjective.

The only way around this is to have a moral standard that is given to us subjective human beings from outside ourselves. I posit that God exists and has given us a moral code that exists outside of our own minds and thus is objective in relation to humanity.

Please share your objective moral truth and what makes it objective rather than subjective.

I don't owe you an answer. It's a stupid point, and you were given a response that was appropriate. If you don't like it, make better points.

Nope.

That's still subjective.

He's incapable of it. I wouldn't even bother, he's not interested in an actual discourse, he's just interested in casting aspersions on Christianity using what he thinks are gotcha statements.

Not when the potter is omnipotent.
Why not? What does omnipotence have anything to do with whether or not God has the right to do with His creation as He sees fit?

quote:

Having the right is not the same as doing it just because you can.
True, but what makes that wrong? There are a lot of things that we have the right to do and that we do just because we can. That alone doesn't mean the actions are immoral or "evil".

Also, God doesn't do things "just because [He] can". He does all things according to His will and His plan.

quote:

That is what evil is...
According to what standard? I believe evil is disobedience to the law of God, which is the only objective moral standard we have.

I've found when people take issue with the right of God to destroy us as He sees fit, it's because they have a wrong view of God, a wrong view of mankind, and/or a wrong view of our relationship with God. This seems to be true here as you think God owes us something which makes it immoral if God does not give us this thing He owes us.

You are the one that spoke of Heaven and Hell being in our legislation. I just asked which ones.
