Congress needs to pass something that limits federal aid (or reimbursement to the states) to only US citizens. If you're on a visa and need government assistance, go get it from your home country.
If blue states want to give welfare to them, fine. But its not eligible for any federal reimbursement, so they can tax their own state's residents to pay for it.

So when administration A decides to give visas out like candy to literally anyone none of us have any recourse, but when administration B decides to actually vet people before handing over a visa suddenly there are lawsuits everywhere?

Literally dumb. Immigration is a resource. Every economics study shows that it is only a net positive. Hell Adam Smith even argued for open labor migration because receieving the labor means you won capitalism. The primary issue with immigration isnt the amount but how hard it is to go through the legal channels.
Reasonable immigration reform is committing to changes to make access to legal immigration easy. But, Trump is a fricking idiot who has never read an economics journal in his life so this is what we get.

If California wants to give welfare to green card holders and raise the state taxes on their own residents to do it, let them. Just as long as the federal government isn’t reimbursing Cali for those expenses. Let all the H1B workers move to the west coast socialist utopia while the Cali tax burden drives productive people to red states.

I literally already answered your question in the post that you were replying to. Not being able to comprehend that is what is idiotic here lol.
Labor is a resource, which is why every study you will find, every paper published in a peer reviewed economic journal all say the same thing: Immigration is a net positive no matter the scale.
Go ahead and try to find one that says different.
Also go ahead and look up who Adam Smith is since you are unfamiliar with the study of economics

Yeah, so I guess I was correct in assuming you dont understand federal deficit states.
In the hypothetical event of California recieving some sort of federal reimbursement for expanded safety net access to people immigrated here , it would be California and other blue states paying for that reimbursement. Florida and Texas are the only red state contributors to our federal government, the rest are all takers. Conserative policies create and reinforce poverty, so until we see some mass enlightenment swing conservatives towards economic literacy (and away from Trump's lack of economic literacy), you dont have to worry about red states paying for any federal reimbursements.
I get what you are saying in a vacuum, but in practice it wouldnt really be any different either way.

Poor people are the demographic prevalent in southern red states and the welfare that demographic receives comes largely from federal funds that blue states supply.
The idea that democratic leadership in red states that doesnt exist is responsible for welfare in red states and *that* is what is dragging them down is simply absurd. State supplied welfare in red states is limited and by no means is what drives poverty in red states. Its honestly laughable.
