State of La. Constitutional Amendment Proposals are getting OOC.

Out of control.
How do you create a State Constitution that has 1,500 pages and must be printed in several book Volumes?
Approach the situation as La. does - propose a new Constitutional Amendment for every thought that crosses one's mind. Forget legislating. Just put it up for vote as a Constitutional Amendment.
When the OT polices its threads better than La. polices its Constitutional Amendment proposals, you are out of control.
Good gracious, Louisiana, get control of your State Constitution. Kindly confine it to a simple document similar to the US Constitution, instead of a grab-bag of every bad and good idea that crosses the mind of some interest group in the State.

A major overhaul was proposed last year. It was crushed at the ballot.

We had a major overhaul of the Const back in 1975. It didn't take long for us to ruin that major overhaul.
To heck with it. I'm going to propose a La. Const. Amendment for every idea that I can think of that pleases me personally.

The biggest issue with the Louisiana Constitution is that we elect absolute idiots to the Legislature. I don't just mean they pursue bad policy. I mean they are objectively stupid.
We desperately need a new constitution, but given the idiots we have that would be writing it, I can't imagine it would get any better.
