State employees solicit lobbyists who have business currently before Gov Desantis?

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Officials who work for Gov. Ron DeSantis' administration — not his campaign — have been sending text messages to Florida lobbyists soliciting political contributions for DeSantis' presidential bid
quote:
NBC News reviewed text messages from four DeSantis administration officials, including those directly in the governor's office and with leadership positions in state agencies. They requested the recipient of the message contribute to the governor’s campaign through a specific link that appeared to track who is giving as part of a “bundle” program.
“The bottom line is that the administration appears to be keeping tabs on who is giving, and are doing it using state staff,” a longtime Florida lobbyist said. “You are in a prisoner’s dilemma. They are going to remain in power. We all understand that.”
quote:
NBC News spoke with 10 Republican lobbyists in Florida, all of whom said they couldn't remember being solicited for donations so overtly by administration officials — especially at a time when the governor still has to act on the state budget. That process that involves DeSantis using his line-item veto pen to slash funding for projects that the same lobbyists whom they are asking for political cash have a professional stake in. Most of the lobbyists said they felt pressure to give to the governor's campaign.

Interesting.

Oh, so now lobbyists have a conscience? That’s the bigger story IMO.

No the biggest story is swamp.
Second story now out on this:

“What the f— am I supposed to do?” one lobbyist told NBC, “I have a lot of business in front of the DeSantis administration.”
The shakedowns come at a time when the Governor still has to act on the state budget, and lobbyists are scrambling to obtain their provisions, carve-outs, and budgeted items.

Members of the house couldn't say anything about the pressure they were getting but the lobbying corp could, and did so.

You can applaud the swamp if you want.
It's just another reason for people to consider.

Trump campaign took $250 million in donations from supporters that it said would go to an election defense fund to pay for legal fees to overturn the 2020 presidential election results. But the fund was never actually created...
Instead, the money went to the Save America political action committee, she said, and the money went from there to several pro-Trump organizations which are headed by former officials close to Donald Trump's inner circle.

Damn…Matt Dixon with a heavy hit
That byline comment about refusing to release the staffer’s name because it’ll identified the lobbyist who told Dixon is BRUTAL

Not seeing a date of when Trump started asking for that money, so did he also have legislation in front him to sign off on too?

He does not understand the difference.
Like I said. It is just another thing for people to consider when voting.

I'm concerned that Trump is gonna have two trials and a federal conviction before voting day. It all can't be bullshite right?

Trump absolutely used legislation for leverage in his re-election campaign but the biggest difference was…he didn’t get caught and I’m pretty sure his aides weren’t sending texts

Ok...so Trumps team is allegedly better at this kind of shady move than the Desantis team, is the equivalency. Thanks.
