I stayed at the Sheraton in 2014 for a conference at the convention center. Use to jog every morning before sunrise down to the Carnival docks down riverfront and back.
I'm betting that would not be possible in today's NO.

Remember when the Starbucks manager in Philadelphia was vilified for requesting a black man to vacate a table because he had not made a purchase. Despite the fact he had been trained to do this the company immediately went into virtue signaling mode and implemented training to cure their managers of unconscious bias. Hope this policy leads to many more store closures.

To Starbucks credit, they have ended all that BS, and also ended free rest room use without a purchase, and have been...shockingly frank about things lately.
They haven't been sugarcoating things or going corporate speak. Starbucks has been flat out saying our cities are unsafe, we are closing stores where they aren't and we aren't tolerating BS.

Yeah if you can’t make money selling over-priced shite coffee there, you can’t make money selling it anywhere in the CBD.
Seriously, though, this is one of the last areas in the city with a legit corporate presence….and those folks know they can’t walk outside without getting robbed or worse. The recall campaign should jump all over this.

I know a lot of people that use to visit New Orleans regularly. They have stopped because they say it is too dangerous.
