Majority minority is a common phrase/term in politics, especially redistricting.
Nothing about her comment was stupid, and Abrams isn't stupid. I agree that she doesn't seem like an asset to the Biden campaign, though.
Identity politics = substantive politics for the left. It's hard to say it's even political anymore. Abrams is a smart black woman with fringe views - isn't that the epitome of the modern Democratic party? In some ways, picking Abrams would be completely on brand for the Dems, as much as picking a white guy from the midwest would be for the GOP.

Huge outside money as well.
While I think Georgia is turning purple (Atlanta), I don't think the Ossoff and Abrams close calls are really indicative of where Georgia voters stand on these far left candidates. If these races were "normal" in funding, I think you'd get slightly more comfortable wins for the R candidates.
What's interesting is that I think Kemp was pretty vulnerable to a more moderate Democrat. In other words, I think it took a ton of money to make Abrams nearly-electable, and that less money on a more relatable candidate could have beaten Kemp.

Biden screwed himself when he announced that his VP pick would be a woman when he announced it at the debate in March. Governor Whitner was the obvious choice at that point, but since has f**ked up the covid-19 situation in Michigan worse than Blanco f**ked up the Katrina response (an impressive accomplishment btw but not in a good way). Democrats also want to boost the African American voter % back over 92% and increase the # of African American voters in swing states. Plus she is a woman so there is that. Democrats just assume that women and African Americans will come out and vote democrat if there is a African American and/or woman on the ticket (sounds like a racist and sexist viewpoint to me but I am just a white conservative male so what do I know

Well that is not true at all. In addition to being an African American female, Stacy Abrams has a lot of 1st hand experience with getting absentee votes in (of course there was also a record number of irregularities with those absentee ballots) and increasing turnout ( she even got 246% voter turnout in one district!) That experience and knowledge will be very useful to the democratic ticket if the dems can figure out how to sneak a vote by mail option into the covid-19 response bill(s).
