Major League Baseball (MLB) commissioner Robert Manfred decided to move the All-Star Game on his own after holding extensive discussions with voting rights groups associated with Lebron James, Stacey Abrams and Rev. Al Sharpton, sources familiar with the move tell Fox News.
Abrams and Sharpton told the commissioner players would boycott the game if not. Sources say that Abrams’ current stance, that she is disappointed about the Georgia boycott, is suspect as she was a key player in the decision. James has publicly supported the Georgia boycott.
Abrams’ group and Sharpton also urged the commissioner to support other issues, including voter drives and H.R. 1, the For the People Act — sweeping election reform that recently passed the House.

Manfred should lose his position for this debacle. He has been a disaster for the league and if he decided to do this on his own, he should be gone by the end of business on Friday

Part of me thinks Manfred took one for the team for the Rs. The Rs clearly made concessions in the Ga Bill but the Dems throw a fit bc they didn’t get everything they want.
It should be clear to EVERYONE that the Ds don’t want unity. They want full authority and acceptance of THEIR path forward.

The 2019 game had about 6 black American players among the two teams. The rest were white guys and players from Latin America (who, surprisingly, know what it is like to live in squalor and, in some cases, under actual communist/socialist regimes). I know virtue signaling is ALL the rage now, but I would have rolled the dice that the proposed "boycott" would have been nothing but bluster and gaslighting. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that at least 75% of the people who would have attended the game in Georgia aren't the ones aligned with Abrams and her ilk.
If this were the NBA then we would probably be having a different discussion. But Manfred was a pussy and hopefully will learn a tough lesson...THERE IS NO APPEASING THE SJW WOKE MOB. All capitulating does is open yourself up for FURTHER capitulating. There is NEVER an end...because for "progressives" there CAN'T be an "end". One day maybe enough of us will wake up and realize that for them it is not about getting results. It is about ALWAYS having a "cause" for which to fight. A "wrong" to right. A "victim" to fight for.

None of this is actually about Georgia - it is to prevent other Red/Purple states from doing similar things to prevent Dem cheating in the future.
