AI has more than once created its own language and locked out human developers to protect itself. They couldn't shut it down and had to unplug servers and wipe drives to kill it.

One of the claims I saw last night is that someone was found to be using AI to help them develop biological weapons. I mean, I don't know that you can tag that back to the lab. The AI can't distinguish between normal biological research and someone using that research to develop something deadly.

saw that too. IIRC it was some bad actor using an open source (kimi or qwen), but the open source model was offloading the request through claude api and thats when it got flagged.
