Someone explain the DOGE checks to me like I’m a child

Are we really getting money?
How much are we realistically getting?
Does wanting this make me a poor?
Why do I feel like I’m only getting $350?

You will understand it when you grow up and why your winkie gets hard when you look at Alina Habba in a bikini.

How much in federal income taxes did you pay last year? Dividends are based on shares. If you didn’t pay in, or only had a minimal federal tax burden, then you may only get $350.

Hopefully not. Its a moronic idea that goes against the entire purpose of DOGE to begin with. Redirect savings to the deficit.

Both Trump and Elon have talked about us getting a DOGE dividend refund check. So, I think it's in the realm of possibility. For the amount I have heard from from $1,500 all the way to $5,000 - $8,000. It's also based on Household, not per person and only for people that paid into the system. Cool screen name btw. Great Better Than Ezra reference.

I’m on the fence. In theory you are right. The prudent thing is to pay down the debt. On the other hand, I feel like I’m being taxed to death. I just looked back on my returns, and last year I paid over $26k in federal income tax (not counting Social Security and Medicare taxes), and for what? So dems can piss it away on waste, fraud, and corruption? We should get a dividend for cutting out this graft.

Did you see what two $1,200 covid stimulus checks did to inflation and related bullshite?
But yea, lets give everyone $5,000 or whatever the amount is supposed to be.
When fed gov runs a surplus, we can talk about a dividend. Until then, its very, very stupid.

I didn’t get any COVID checks because I made too much money. Those checks also didn’t materially raise inflation and dividends based on spending cuts won’t either.

Giving everyone $5,000 dollars for no reason won't contribute to rising costs?

Like I said, when the government operates in the black, look at it. Until then, it makes zero sense.

… By and by, when the morning comes
All the saints of God are gathered home
We will tell the story how we've overcome
And we'll understand it better by and by

They’ve been told what to think for so long they can’t look at the problem and evaluate it.

is this liberal common sense? Kind of comical really. Let me guess, you think ELON is stealing our SS too?

You need to take an economics class if you think $1200 is what caused this inflation

This would be a return essentially of “taxes overpaid” so people getting refunds not paying anything into the system won’t be getting that money back, since they didn’t pay it in the first place.

These checks are going to be very unpopular when people find out most of these big money DOGE savings found are just not true.

It’s a dumb idea and hope it dies. Cut spending and then get to work cutting taxes, I would rather see the difference in less taxes in my paycheck every month than a reach around while still getting fricked.
