And as I stated before, take that up with Crazy Uncle Joe. It was his concept.

That is fricking horse shite.

The God damned democrats said they would do the EXACT SAME THING in 2007 if GWB had the opportunity to appoint one.

God damn mother frickers expect the Republicans just to roll over AFTER they said EXACTLY WHAT THEY WOULD DO.

Yeah. Before Garland, the Democrats treated every Republican appointee with decorum and grace.

Support Bork and Thomas???? I was too young to care for Bork and to naive to pay attention for Thomas at the time.

I think Garland should have been run through the mud and had a vote. I'm not as considerate as the Rs though. I want the escalation.

Score: dems 3 repubs 1

We need to mount a comeback.

Seriously though, look at the voting records. It's not close as to which side is unhinged.

It means that politics trump qualifications for the court. You are being dishonest if you dont think that established a nasty precedent.

Not this level of precedent, not even close. Ruining Kav’s reputation and potential livelihood is not right, even by political standards. It’s petty and does nothing to better our country or government.

quote:

Partisan politics is constant escalation. You cant be fine with it when it goes your way and cry foul when the other side does it

This is reasonable but doesn’t apply here, crying foul is a little different when it IS foul and the perpetrators admit as much.

quote:

As to the allegations, they are calling for a Federal investigation...not a trial by public opinion. Pushing it through and finding more info later doesnt seem wise. Its a political move...

How do you investigate - federally or anything - when there’s no when, where, or who? How about the 6 inquiries into his past that have already taken place?

You’re doing anything and everything to stay blind to the injustice being done to Kav and the American people as a whole, for purely political reasons as you admit.

quote:

but the conservatives are in a tough bind

How? They’re on the verge of shutting it all down and voting. The DEMS are in a tough bind, with a “victim” that has no credibility and no evidence. The American populace sees it all.

Garland

Did Obama ever even mention his name again ONCE after the day he put him up for "nomination"?

If he did, I don't remember.

Seems weird if this was such a huge deal and horrible thing by the Republicans.

No. I'm less considerate I would have held the hearing and run him through like Spartacus and the rest of the resistance fighters. Then voted no.

I hate it but Trump has the right to appoint qualified SCOTUS. That said, Garland changed everything. Dont expect another reasonable appointment in an election year ever again.

Sure you can choose to believe this in your own little feaux reality but it doesn't change
The ACTUAL facts Biden started this precedent in the early 90's. Just because you keep saying it doesn't make it true. Garland was reaction to Biden.

Biden proposes the no vote in an election year rule.

Reid eliminates the 60 seats needed to confirm rule.

Trump stacks the USSC with conservatives for a generation
