Hope is not a plan!!

BRknot. Be careful. The benefit is adjusted due to inflation. Who do you blame for the inflation? Fauci? Covid? Tooth Ferry? Who is the president? Let’s see, Jimmy Carter had the record at 14.3% in 1980. Joe is getting close. I hope you have a good job. I need those contributions. The wage base is $160,000. My goal was to always exceed the base. I remember when they moved it to $28,800 and I barely beat it in 1977.

I think you can only make like 19k per year while collecting SS if you are under the age of 70 without having your benefits reduced.
Nope, once someone meets the retirement age according to the government you can make as much as you want between the government check you earned and what you get paid as an employee.

Hey, Dumbo. Biden has no say so in the SS cola increases. It’s done by a cost of living/inflation formula in previous legislation.

That’s great. I happen to have a job that’s more fun than anything else I can do as a hobby. I can only fish, hunt or travel so much.

One of the MANY major Ponzi Schemes created by the Federal Reserve money laundering system.
The Fed is the biggest financial crime in world history, and S.S. is one of the Elaborate vehicles they used to steal from taxpayers for the last 100 years almost.
Un-Lucky for us, we will be the Generation that gets hosed big time, I’m in my mid-upper 40’s.
Not looking forward to what’s in our financial futures, We are in “Operation: accelerated self-destruction”, with no end in sight.

Normalize the increase with inflation...

You and Goose are both correct. The OP seemed to have drunk the Biden cool-aid and is convinced that the old man has helped him out. I was not going to explain the truth to him like he’s 5. If he can’t figure it out, so be it.

2BRK. I am the OP. Go reread what I said and please keep working. I doubt the downvoters really understood what I was saying. Public education I guess.. I forgive you.

Wrong. I paid into that shite from 1974 until 2021.
On a different note, it's a damn shame the economy is so fricked SS was increased 8.7 percent.

The Trump Administration raised the national debt more than any other administration in history. Fact.

You got it. Thank you. Exactly my point. It’s interesting to look at my SS numbers. My first reportable pay was in 1967. I was 15. SS has kept up with my pay all these years. I had a few 0 income years when I was paid in cash I guess.. Then starting about 1971 I have had reportable SS wages ever since. It is our money that we have paid in all these years and now we are getting it back. It would be interesting to know how much we and our employers have paid in over the years vs what we get back. Probably wasn’t a great investment.. Those numbers aren’t readily available.
I started the thread to hopefully make people think. Inflation is a killer and we have to get it under control. You don’t control inflation by promoting green new deals and closing pipelines..

You are correct but the economy was growing fast enough to sustain the spending. The stock markets were moving up, interest rates and inflation were in check. We were energy independent. Biden’s policies killed our economy….
