Eligible to start drawing SS in less than 6 years.... never counted on there being a dime to collect, but it would be nice to recoup some of the $$$ taken from me over the last 40 years or so.

I’m eating well. Ruth’s is packed with older folks these days. Hey I’m MAGA as they come but taking the good with the bad i guess. Feel sorry for young people trying to buy a house or anything on credit. I told a lot of those educated young folks what was coming but……….they were woke.

I think you can only make like 19k per year while collecting SS if you are under the age of 70 without having your benefits reduced.

How are those above me going to move up if I retire? Think about that Oil Field. Sorry you don’t get the irony of all of this.

I just finished a good book.
In 2043 there were 70 thousand Billionaires... in 2044 there were none... we'll be coming for you..

No. Once you reach retirement age you can have UNLIMITED income. That’s an old and incorrect assumption. If you retire BEFORE your established retirement age then you are limited. The current full retirement age for those born in 1960 or after is 67. My retirement age was 66. I’m still pretty young i think and work a lot because i happen to love working. A lot younger than our president*.

Well if our politicians had the courage to NOT pay those who never contributed into the SS system we’d be ok.
Do you happen to know what age group is more like to vote than any other? SSN is called "The 3rd Rail" for a reason.

They will kick the can down the road, until they can't then massive cuts, age increases, and/or tax increases will happen. This isn't advanced calculus. This is simple math.

Not exactly the definition of courage Grey goose. But we have accepted mediocre leadership for so long we’d not recognize true courage anymore i guess.

20500 until right at 66. But if you draw before retirement age, you receive reduced benefits already. Which don't go to full benefits when you do reach retirement age. If you take it early, it's always the reduced amount.

Is that why it's impossible to get a seat at good restaurants now, and the place is full of shitty looking people?

Because that's definitely a thing now.

I dress well. I Can afford to on my increased SS benefit. Don’t buy Grey Goose though. Not worth the extra cost over Absolut.

Well, you're welcomed. I'm young, pay a shitload of it, and likely will never see a nickel of it.

Hey, Dumbo. Biden has no say so in the SS cola increases. It’s done by a cost of living/inflation formula in previous legislation.

I used to think that too when I was 40. Years went by fast and all of a sudden I started getting paid. You just have to live long enough I guess. Just take it the day you are eligible. I was 66 and 6 months. The benefit is 3.3X more dollars than my first full time job after graduating from LSU. Amazing.
