But if you don't like that what Hesgeth put out there was wrong, you need to take it up with the people that make these rules within DoD. They're there for a reason.

Let’s assume the messages were fine.

It’s a terrible own goal to have the leftist reporter added.

How the frick does that even happen?

You don't care about government deleting records of their own actions?

There was also no immediate need to share this information via signal.

Why? It has end to end encryption. Signal is considered the gold standard in secure communications by cybersecurity experts. I'm not suggesting Signal is the best method for these discussions but I don't understand why people act like they were chatting in a public chat forum. The only reason anyone knows what was said is because Goldberg leaked it.

No, the only reason anyone knows is because the people that are circumventing protocol are so stupid they accidentally included a reporter in the conversation.

The texts contained timing, targets, locations and weapons used. That’s pretty serious. Pretty useful info for the enemy that jeopardizes U.S. lives…

I mean, are we supposed to have records of everything everyone in the administration says? What if they were having this conversation of some burgers at Hegseths backyard BBQ?

The issue is adding the reporter. Not what was said.

I'm sure you had Hillary's back when the email server scandal was ongoing, right?

Why would he need to have her back when she had you to do that?

You Sir, have been nowhere near the military. Classified communication is done over secure hard wired phone lines or secured networks. High levels discussions about military missions are discussed in a SCIF and no cell phones are allowed in a SCIF.

Damn I have gotten at least 100 fragos etc… over the encrypted radio. I guess I should get criminally charged if the cabinet secretaries are in trouble for have a collaborative planning group discussing sensitive information on an approved encrypted application!

They can talk, but by secure communication about an operation that is being planned and then executed.

Ummm dude it was done on an approved encrypted application. The only issue is that somehow Goldberg was invited into the thread.
