Going forward with Trump?

Personally I would like to see pharmaceuticals reform, mental health reform, and some trust busting.

All unlikely, but all still doable.

He will be able to simplify the tax code if he gets a second term.

That mental healthcare reform better happen before November because these folks are gonna need it after the Red Wave crushes their spirit.

People are legit struggling with this stuff because they are so weak minded and society/the media continues to enable them and their antics. It is pretty sad.

I want to see the completion of muh wall

I'm all for it and for drug counseling/in-patient centers as well. This opioid stuff is breaking our communities bigly and they need help to combat it.

They harm consumers and should not exist. The idea that being first should somehow protect you from competition is absurd.

Patents are anti-competition and consequently are anti-consumer

Please explain. I'm not familiar with anything about this but it sounds like it could be fascinating

At the same time, wouldn't not being able to introduce an item for a protected time disincentivise small or beginner level people from entry?

I only had three things that steered my vote, and 2 of the 3 have made good progress:

1. Stop the Muslim invasion. (thumbs up)
2. Build the Wall (thumbs side)
3. LOCK THEM UP OR HANG! (thumbs down) - Mr. President? Walk the Walk SIR!

Overall probably not. Patents protect large companies from other parties innovating on their designs. It might screw the occasional innovator but the barrier to entry would be dramatically decreased overall

Patents protect inventors that might not have the resources to compete with existing business.

If I invented a widget, was trying to drum up enthusiasm and funds to take my product from prototype to production. What stops ACME from swooping in, stealing my invention, and moving to production before I ever get off the ground?

There may be some grounds for reform to increase competiveness, but doing away entirely is ripe for abuse.

Health care reform has to be the main one. They got rid of the individual mandate but Obamacare is still law. Insurance is unaffordable for most and drug prices are still insanely high.

The flip side is.. whats to stop you from innovating on their design and selling it to tbeir competition or securing funding and producing a higher quality product?

Uh, the same problem if i'm still having to secure funds and interest in my "innovative design". They can just swoop in again and steal my newer design.

Additionally, why would their competition want to buy my design when they could just take it? Nothing secures it to me.

1. Eliminate EPA mandate for emissions inspections for vehicle registration, make it a state issue. Cars are 100x cleaner than 20 years ago when this went into affect, and the biggest polluters are already exempt. It is outdated and a pain in the arse. And it could be done with the stroke of a pen, no congress needed.

2. Remove Roth IRA income caps, raise the contribution cap to $10k/annum.

3. Mandate that all employers must offer HSA plans as a stepping stone to individualized healthcare. Employer does not have to contribute, but must make it available. Employees must contribute a minimum of 5% gross income until such time as the balance reaches 10,000, then Employee can opt down to 1%. Yeah, it is forced savings, but I am ok with that.

4. Mandate that all employers must offer an IRA of some sort, even if the employer doesn't contribute. Employees must save a minimum 3% of their gross pay, up to a certain cap. Eventually this will help us return SS to what it was intended to be, and save it for those whom it was originally designed to help.

5. Appoint a special counsel to investigate the tampering of our elections by domestic enemies.
