The government is telling me I don’t owe $10,000 of the outstanding balance anymore.

Are you saying I should still pay it, just because? Why would any dumbass do that?

I think the student loan bailout is dumb as hell, that said I'll gladly let them finish off what I had left.

I'm just getting my tax money back. Would I prefer the forgiveness not be an option, of course. But if this goes through I'm not walking away from free money any more than I did the stimulus payments.
