If Dems end up with 225+ seats after the midterms, I think it happens.

It's hypocritical and petty, but I think they'll feel vindicated by their midterm gains and they'll do it. They also know it's purely political in nature and the Senate will quickly acquit him, but they'll have made their point.

It's dumb as hell, but I think it happens.

Hypothetical:
If this happens (house impeaches and senate acquits), is that it? Or will it keep going until his term is up, he resigns, or the senate changes their minds?

They'll do the same to him as they did to Trump. They're betting there will be a Democrat as SOTH after the mid-terms.

That's it on those allegations. Being impeached is like being charged with a crime, but the burden of proof is much lower. It's not as difficult to do as people here act like it is. It doesn't even require an actual crime to be committed, just allegations of a crime.

If the house passes articles of impeachment and the senate acquits, it would seem counterproductive to continue attacking Trump, but it's possible they could try again. Trump doesn't come off as a guy who would resign, nor should he.

They're not going to actually remove him from office. A senate conviction requires 2/3rd majority and that's simply not going to happen.

The impeachment would be symbolic - red meat to throw to their base. It's no different than Republicans repealing Obamacare dozens of times while Obama was in office knowing it would be vetoed. Once Republicans had the votes and a president willing to sign a repeal, they couldn't get it passed. They didn't really want a repeal, they just wanted it to appear that way.

This is going to backlash like a mother fricker.

The red wave explodes in November. Massive turnout of pissed off people tired of these shenanigans.

Trump then goes scortched earth on everyone cause he pissed.

You are absolutely correct. My comment was merely tongue in cheek.
