They're all liars, but yes.
I'm not exactly supporting KM.
I'm just pointing out Gaetz has engaged in a shitty strategy that is going to lose, for virtue signaling points, and then he's going to claim martydom and some sort of symbolic and pyrrhic victory.

Declaring a loss? This is performative. Straight up virtue signaling. Leftist shite.
Now now, people on the right have engaged in performative, virtue signaling losing for quite some time.
This isn’t a leftist only trait.

That's what has brought this country to its current sad state. Keep compromising with socialists and eventually you become a socialist-totalitarian government.

Y'all are looking at this through the prism of Democrat versus Republican.
Gaetz just wants narrowly scoped appropriations bills with the ability to amend, debate and vote...you know legislate. Something congress has not done since the mid '90s.
McCarthy wants single vote continuing resolutions, aka omnibus bills. McCarthy and the rest of the Uniparty want to be able to say, sorry about that Ukraine spending but I had to vote yes on the bill to give our district the bridge to no-where that everyone wanted.
Again, Gaetz just want's narrowly scoped appropriations to give him and his congressional colleagues the opportunity to vote on Ukraine spending and the bridge to no-where separately for example.
The Uniparty wants all or nothing.

Gaetz is an extreeeeeeemly dumb sob. That's what you're missing.

McCarthy will make deals with Democrats to stay in power.
Correct, and after those deals are made Gaetz will file another motion to vacate. Those Republicans now have to go back and explain to their constituents why they voted to save McCarthy.
Holding DC elected officials feet to fire is all of a sudden bad because team ball bro. Keep playing team ball with the John McCain’s and Mitt Romney’s of the world. Good times ahead.

Yes you are.
McCarthy worked with dems to give dems what they want as the gop majority leader.
Meanwhile, tue gop got squat.
And, he did it behind closed doors.
You are dancing around the question. Gaetz is not going to get most of the GOP caucus to oust McCarthy. At most, the 20 or so congressmen who kept voting against him in January might be on board to oust him again but I honestly think even that is too high since most of them might not want to go through that circus again. So at most he might 10 votes or so to oust McCarthy out of 220 republicans. Where then does he expect to get the remaining votes to oust him? From democrats of course, and they'd be all to happy to oblige.
Gaetz can work with dems if he wants to, but the irony of this whole thing is not lost on me.

After the CR is passed that all the "conservatives" on this board are currently cheering on will then complain about all the spending and how it is destroying our children's future.

And his strategy is going to make these harder to do, b/c he's going to take a huge L due to this horrible strat.

Gaetz is taking a huge L and failing in spectacular fashion. Is giving the DEMs more than they would get had he fallen in line a win in any sense of the word, outside of symbolic victories and virtue signaling?

And, since Gaetz isn't working at the real problem, those constituents will support their rep and not the "extremist", loser Gaetz.

Exactly. Because Gaetz just solidified CRs by his shitty performance art loser bullshite.
He's hurting the movement.

What are you talking about? I'm literally explaining how he is marginalizing the movement by engaging in a terrible strategy.

I’m not sure he’s going to declare martyrdom.
I can’t really fault him for doing what he said he was going to do if McCarthy failed to honor the agreements he made to become Speaker.
Gaetz is saying the country is going to be lost by continuing down this road and, if it is, he wants his name recorded as having opposed it. Now, there are theatrics in such a move, sure. But I can’t say that what he is doing or saying is out of line or dishonest. I wish more Republicans were like this though I know there aren’t nor is there likely to be.

Right,
Which is exactly what would happen without gaetz.
We actually have some focused resolutions legislated.
Thanks gaetz.

Yeah, this is bull shite and totally the opposite. The appropriation bills that have already made it out of committee and have passed are the result of Gaetz' efforts. 75% of the buget is currently funded by the House and McCarthy and the uniparty are holding up the rest so they can run the clock out and force a CR.
You cannot deny McCarthy want's a CR. You cannot deny that. That is his goal.

I mean, all they would have to say is that the alternative was socialist Hakeem Jeffries. It's not the gotcha he (Gaetz) thinks.

Not exactly. The DEMs are going to use Gaetz to get more out of this CR. A huge loss for people who oppose the DEM agenda.
