ratings are up this year

Ratings were down 8-10% each year the past 2 years and this year they are up 3%. Over a 3 year span they are still way down. Ratings going up from historic declines would be expected, but they have not got close to recovering

To be fair, I’m not “boycotting “. But, I am watching way less because it has become a nearly unwatchable mess with flags thrown every time a DB breathes on a WR or a QB gets touched.

So, for me, it is product quality driven.

This. I can't stand it for the most part because of this.

The quality of refereeing has gone downhill too. Like blatent missed calls in the Pitt / SD game where it was an obvious false start that resulted in a touchdown.

Wasn't the first missed FS either.

It's too bad. Used to love having the NFL on Sundays while hanging with the family.

I am not actively boycotting, but the previous 2 years of politicizing football had a major negative effect on me. I have lost my passion for the game, and now all I watch are the Saints and sometimes Steelers and Broncos (my other 2 lifelong favorite teams behind Saints). The effect of all of this means I am somewhat boycotting but not out of any political statement; it's strictly due to loss of interest as a result of their political nonsense

Yes, in prayer. Asking for the good times to return

LOL at you. You think that has anything to do with the people kneeling because black people feel inequality? You are so dumb. NFL ratings were already on the decline especially after all the CTE information came out

Why resort to lying to attempt to make your point?

The NFL had the highest TV ratings in history during the 2015 year. At the start of '16 CK started kneeling. And the ratings have never recovered

Displaced Buckeye tried to convince me that the NFL was doing better than ever because the revenue was at an all time high since they were operating on TV contracts put in place before the decline.

The nfl realized it has an image problem defending a bunch of flag disrespecting women beating dummy a-hole crybabies.

It’s why they decked the coaching staffs out in military like clothing. People see their disrespect of the hand that feeds them. They’re trying to put a false exterior on their bull shite.

So, we've seen a decline and a plateauing. Look I hated the kneeling as much as anyone, but I'm not gonna let fools take away something I enjoy. If you think the NFL is going anywhere you're mistaken. The long term concern will be the CTE issues and how soft parents are getting. Good way to lose longterm viewership right there

I was astounded to learn that young leftist millennials are packing the Falcons stadium to watch Atlantas MLS soccer team.

All those players, many of whom are from South America and Europe, will stand respectfully and politely during the Star Spangled Banner. Some will even applaud.

This is the case for me as well, I've been a huge Broncos fan my entire life and have always watched every game of theirs that I can.

I just can't get into it the last few years, for the reasons above and a couple others. I feel like the college game is overtaking NFL, especially in my eyes, because of the players. I feel like there's too many trades in the NFL, as soon as you become a fan of a player and some "team pride" is established he gets traded away or his contract expires and he's off to the next highest bidder.

There's no "hometown pride" involved anymore like there used to be, instead its players, coaches, and GMs just chasing the almighty dollar. They don't care about the fans, the city they're in, their teammates - they just want the most money. The only reason to play hard is to gain another contract or make a salary increase, not for your team to win it all.

It's just hard to be invested in a team and sport that is like a constant revolving door of monetary mercenaries for hire.

This is me. I'm basically only watching Saints games.

this doesn’t bother me as a fan nor would it bother me if every band on earth boycotted performing at the super bowl halftime. I would actually prefer the shorter half time as I think most fans would.

i tuned into to the san angeles chargers game sun for the first few minutes. the stadium was half full for a 9-3 team on a winning streak. there was a graphic at the beginning of the game saying that over the last 19 games, the chargers were 15-4, tied for best in the nfl.

they play in a soccer specific stadium and couldn't fill it up for a team on a roll right before the playoffs. oh, and they have the tarps of shame in the ez upper deck.

Typical lefty, throwing out stats without actually understanding their meaning.

Let me make it simple for you.

Let's say for 20 years -- TWENTY YEARS STRAIGHT your salary increased, year over year...

and in 2015 you made $100,000.
$80,000 in 2016, and $60,000 in 2017.....
Exactly how happy are you to be making $65,000 in 2018?

I mean, your making more than 2017 right??? Just forget the fact that you are making a lot less than 2015 and 2016.... at least you are doing better than 2017 right? amirite?
