Snipes (already convicted of wrongdoing over several years) running the Broward election.

Brenda Snipes, the Broward County Board of Elections Supervisor previously convicted for illegally destroying ballots, is once again under scrutiny for her questionable handling of Tuesday’s elections.

quote:Yes, that is the only article that my search found, too. One reporter used the word “conviction.” I think we are agreed that reporters are not bright people. He provided no reference to any substantive facts regarding this purported “conviction.”
NC_Tigah
The only thing I can find was a judicial finding in May 2018 that she destroyed some ballots that were the subject of a civil lawsuiit about a recount. (Newspaper article). Again, “shady,” but that is not a criminal conviction.
Again, what crime? When and where?
I predict continued victory dances about a reporter who misused the word “conviction,” and no link to ant ACTUAL conviction.

So only the Dems can question the legitimacy of elections?
Broward county is:
1 - Criminal
2 - Criminally stupid

She was found by the courts to have overseen illegal destruction of of ballots. What term would you use?

No. Not at all. But If the republican is declared the winner in a close race and then a few boxes of ballots are found in the trunk of a rental car and the closet of a building and all of them say Democrat, and it just so happens to be enough to tip the scales in two races that took longer to count almost twice as long as the rest of the country for seemingly no reason, yes, that smells like fraud.

What term would I use? The same one that you and I have already used ... “judicial finding.”
I would certainly not say that someone had been convicted of a crime, when no charges have even been brought.
This is just another example of the tendency to demonize political opponents by lying or (at best) exagerating negatives, when the ACTUAL negatives are quite enough cause for concern

It appears that he is now acknowledging that he was wrong, by focusing upon the word “wrongdoing” (I acknowledged Snipes as a shady character in my initial post) and ignoring the word “conviction,” which relates to,criminal proceedings (which she has apparently never faced).

quote:So, again, where is the “conviction.”. When?”
con·vict
verb
past tense: convicted; past participle: convicted
/k?n'vikt/Submit
declare (someone) to be guilty of a criminal offense by the verdict of a jury or the decision of a judge in a criminal trial or criminal proceeding, which ends in a judgment or sentence that the prisoner is guilty as charged. .
Again, a judicial finding in a civil proceeding is not a “conviction.”. Do you lack the intellectual honesty to make even that simple admission?

You Dems certainly learned your lesson in 2000. Not a single recount “let every vote count” operation has gone for the GOP since then.
Well done.
Well done.

Perhaps you have a unique dictionary, but mine says:
quote:
convict
verb con·?vict | \k?n-'vikt \ convicted; convicting; convicts
Definition of convict transitive verb
1 : to find or prove to be guilty
The jury convicted them of fraud.
2 : to convince of error or sinfulness

Richly stated after a two year investigation into Russian collusion.

TBOY, when have Republicans showed up late and started finding ballots laying around?
It's always Democrats who are behind in the tally...
mysteriously finding ballots
We're sick of your stick...
your party is starting a civil war, ...your stupid policies already bankrupted the country...
now what's left? a bunch of problems with your politicians reaching in our pockets...blaming us for not paying enough taxes...
Meanwhile too people in Broward County are raised up without a father....and can't spell Obama...
