From what I have read and personally observed

People are using SNAP to by soft drinks and junk food from grocery stores then selling the drinks and food to convince stores for cash.

There should be restrictions on what they can buy . They don't need junk food or high dollar food .

You can't debate this with a Liberal. As with everything, they lack common sense.

Never really thought about it until now but I wonder why Michelle Obama was so intent on making the school lunch program healthy but did not make the same restrictions apply to food stamps?

You left out easily the worst, and most prolofic, abuse. Scan two candy bars at the Qwikmart register, pay EBT, cashier gives you a pack of cigarettes. I used to see that one daily at my local gas station.

Nothing makes my heart warmer than to watch a woman with 5 kids get 5 Icees, 4 bags of gummy worms, swipe a Louisiana Purchase card and then load everyone into a loaded out 2017 Charger.

Good times.

Was with you until here.

Here not so much. If you have your hand out and are taking tax payer funded assistance than the government should absolutely be able to dictate what you buy. Welfare should not be made into a lifestyle it is not made to be comfortable. It is there for people who fall off their feet temporarily and are working to get back up. In the case of EBT yes the government should absolutely be able to dictate what a recipient buys.

Reform is absolutely necessary. We will have to wait a while to actually see it.
Some of common arguments against reform have already been discussed.
You can throw in the "military spending is far worse" and the ever present "that's racist" arguments.
There is waste and bloat in just about every area of government spending and something needs to be done.
The more the "racist" tag gets thrown around inappropriately the more diminished its power becomes until the powers that be are no longer fearful of the stigma it carries.

All she did was make it where kids quit eating school lunches. It's like eating cardboard now. They don't cook, so they just took the stuff that made process food taste good, like salt, and eliminated them. The problem is it's still process food, it just taste bad now.

The government is not telling them that. The government is telling them to use their own money to make those purchases. Like they always do (run the Louisiana Purchase card first, then pull out the wad of cash for their alcohol and cigarettes).

Further proof that only land owners should be allowed to vote. Talk about seeing taxes go down, more bang for the buck, and less waste as the lobbying for votes would shift to intellectuals who are savvy enough to own a house rather than settle for handouts.

Why is this a problem? Americans as a whole are fat.
The problem is American's eating habits.

2 years ago I saw a woman in a Ragin Cajun jersey, with 2 kids, using her Louisiana Purchase card to pay for cokes, chips, dip, cookies and cupcakes. They were going tail gaiting.
