Slightly off topic, Singapore really looks like a kick arse spot for a vacation

I really need to consult the travel board about this place sometime soon. I really like the architecture and the layout of the city. It's so damn clean everywhere.
Sentosa where the summit is taking place looks like a must see as well.

May be a nice place to travel to, but there are some nasty flaws with the institutions of Singapore. Economic freedom may be high, but free speech/press rights are weak and elections are not completely credible. One party has held power in Singapore for like 70 years. That is unfathomable in a democracy.

Singapore is a place everyone should see at least once in their lives.
But there are much more fun parts of Southeast Asia.

Eh, to be fair, the USA is pretty out there as the absurdly high amount of free speech and free press is not common at all with the rest of the world.

Well obviously it seems to be working for them as they've been living in peace for a very long time and they hold universal respect around the world as a credible leadership institution for an asian country.

The whole city is amazing. Never stay on the same place is my suggestion.

Still remembering those passionate nights with ladyboys in Thailand fondly?

It’s not. I have a buddy who lives there and the water isn’t fit to swim in. Very polluted from all the ships that harbor there.

I don’t think chewing is the problem.
Don’t spit, though.

Great industry. Not a great vacation spot. All work, not much play. But just a short ferry ride away from good vacation spots (Indonesia).
The architecture in Marina Bay is something to see ($$$$) Clarke Quay is great for expats. Sentosa is fun. (Universal Stud.) Once you get away from these areas the rest is HDBs (apartments).

The St Regis where Kim stayed is amazing. I can’t afford Shangri La yet but hopefully one day

My mother is from there and can personally tell you it’s a fricking awesome country. And safe as well. Go there for biz every few months.

They make bank too.
During some random internetting earlier I saw that the Prime Minister makes 2.2 million a year and the President makes over a million a year.
Well above the 400k or so that the US President/Leader of the Free World makes.

The citizens and PR back this practice (of paying leadership big money). They said the high pay will prevent the leaders from being bought out and turning corrupt.

Is that the place where this includes being caught with chewing gum?
