lol, he then put a dei Marxist in as vp because the far left said so.
He also signed the largest climate change bill ever, because the far left said so.
Joe Biden was an empty suite.

Man, I’ve been around long enough to know that the economy will decide that.

And you think that would explain why I don’t understand how Democrats select their candidates?
The intellectual dissonance in your post is impressive in a way.

They are going to want a Centrist, and their base is going to want a loon. They are not going to get away with floating another straight white male through. All of their black females are empty suits, except that one Jasmine character, and she’s nutty. So I see it coming down to AOC, Buttguy and SAS.
I agree, to a point. It's really going to depend on what the economy is like by 2028 and how much the Dems can generate OMB against whomever the GOP candidate may be at that time.
If the economy is roaring, the centrists are likely to split between the GOP candidate and their party's candidate. This will separate those on the Left who still have some capacity for objectivism, and those who see politics as a team sport (your team evil, my team saintly). Add in some caveat to those who benefit from Leftist vote-buying through public programs, NGOs, etc.
The group left over will go along with whatever the DNC Powers That Be serve up as a candidate. The trend for over a decade now has been for further and further Left candidates so there's little expectation we wouldn't get another open-borders, men-in-womens'-sports, military-as-a-social-project, big-government, DEI/CRT Leftist from them.
If the economy is bad or even struggling, the centrists are going to be more likely to stick with the Dems. The economy is going to give them fuel to move even further leftward so they'll cough up another economic moron who will push UBI and MMT onto masses open to hearing any monetary policy lunacy that they believe they could wish into magically working enough to make their lives better.
Under normal circumstances I think the Dems would shift back to the center, but the advocacy media and the powers in the party are so determined to be counter-Trump that, unless that drastically changes over the next four years, they will push an insanely Left candidate for no other reason than "frick Drumphf".
Last night was a sterling underscoring of that with none of the Dem members of Congress standing for a young boy with cancer, or the family of Laken Riley. Underscoring that underscoring is that the ONLY "nay" votes for the Lake Riley Act (in both chambers) were Democrats (the two I's in the Senate voted "nay" but they have always been little more than Dems just wearing the Indy label).
Why would they behave like this towards groups they allege to support? Because Trump. That's it.

I might be alone here but I have always like Stephen A. Smith.
I just like the fact hes always spoken his mind, even against popular opinion.
I just like guys that will stand their ground.

Kind of what I said
I was asked for evidence of the Democrat Party Center. Here is a link to Matthew Yglesias’ Common Sense Democrat Manifesto
Yglesias is extremely influential on the Left.

I don’t know if he will or not. He has said, “I could beat them all”, meaning Democrat contenders for the Oval Office. He has said, “I wouldn’t mind being in office.”, meaning The Presidency.
So who knows? I’m not going to make the same mistake I made when Trump announced, which was thinking he did it just for the novelty and the media attention.

He has over 55,000 paid substack subscribers. He is one of the leading thought influencers of the Center-Left. His substack, Slow Boring, ranks among the top five political substacks.
If you don’t read him you should. He is a reliable barometer of the Left’s somewhat reasonable arguments.
