I'm somewhat surprised Bloomberg reported this in such a straightforward fashion. IMO, this story should be the lead/headline in every publication and show across the entire globe.
quote:

More than 99% of Italy’s coronavirus fatalities were people who suffered from previous medical conditions, according to a study by the country’s national health authority.

quote:

The Rome-based institute has examined medical records of about 18% of the country’s coronavirus fatalities, finding that just three victims, or 0.8% of the total, had no previous pathology. Almost half of the victims suffered from at least three prior illnesses and about a fourth had either one or two previous conditions. More than 75% had high blood pressure, about 35% had diabetes and a third suffered from heart disease.

quote:

The average age of those who’ve died from the virus in Italy is 79.5.

So literally the dead are elderly and already sick with an average 2 other major conditions!

I think chopping 20% off of GDP is way more damaging than a little bit more old/sick people dying than would have already been picked off annually by flu/pneumonia/whatever.

Don’t mean to be the bearer of bad news, but with the new Hypertension guidelines most adults in the US would qualify as having some degree of high blood pressure. We also have much more diabetes and copd than Italy because we’re all fat as f*ck. This report is meaningless for us.

I really want to tell you how cold and thoughtless your opinion is. However, I’m coming around on this. I read a thread on the OT about people losing their jobs and it made me sick. This whole situation sucks.

Italy has the 5th oldest population (measured by median age) in the world. The US is 61st.

I know we have some fat, sick frickers here. But we also have better medicine and less crowding.

Dying or being incapacitated by a virus isn't the only way for human suffering to manifest itself. Take away a man's job and livelihood and see what toll that takes on national mental health.

Would Washington have even been in the news if it hadn't unfortunately gotten into a senior care center? Let's be honest - pneumonia would have had the exact same impact...would we have even heard about it?

He's the one getting cut out of the rest of his families will's and final estate planning orders. Trust funder that just had his trust revoked.

Go pull the stats dealing with age on our dead here in the US. You can check it on LINK /. Count the number of dead people here with an age less than the average age of Italy’s population. You might not like what you see.

That link does not say anything about the US by age and pretty much says what the OP said. Did you read it?

Scroll down and click on the United States, then scroll down on the new page. It will list the cases and deaths and most of the time their age. If you want I can hold your hand while you attempt this.

Lots. Almost all are listed as “with other health conditions”

If you’re 50 and living in a skilled nursing facility, you’re disabled

Do you or any other deniers have hypertension, asthma, COPD, obesity (BMI>30), use a CPAP at night, have diabetes, etc...? Congrats! You too have “other health conditions.”
