Largely why I was against the purchase of the new Sigs. It's like changing hardware for a software issue. Just stupid.

Actually if he is planning on reaching full presentation (arms fully extended) there is training and drills in place where you rapidly fire your handgun before you make full presentation (what's considered position 4).

He might have been caught running a CQ tactical drill - as soon as the gun fires they are bringing the gun close to their body to move.
